Counseling By the NumbersYou helped hundreds of Samaritan Center clients connect mind and spirit in 2013.

2013 Meaningful MilestonesCampus Contract Renewed Samaritan Center successfully renewed its contract to provide mental health services and education to UWFox students, faculty and staff. The program served 78 UWFox students during the 2013-14 academic year.

CARE Auction Benefited Samaritan Center Kimberly-Clark Research and Engineering orchestrated an online auction of test products. Their fellow Fox Valley employees bid on the products, raising $35,000 for the center.

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Joins Our Programs Samaritan assumed administrative responsibilities for the QPR suicide intervention training program. A grant from the J.J. Keller Foundation made this possible. Some 100 regional QPR trainers provide this training in partnership with Prevent Suicide Fox Cities.

Connected Community Wellness Screen Expands This emotional wellness check-up program, formerly known as TeenScreen, grew to serve all Appleton public high schools and Kaukauna High School in 2013-14, identifying 64 teens needing mental health services. It will expand into Oshkosh public high schools and Appleton’s Xavier High School in 2014-15.

Child/Youth Trauma Specialty Added Three Samaritan therapists now offer Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a best-practice counseling method for children and teens dealing with abuse and other trauma.

Clergy Seek Support in Peer Groups Clergy from two denominations participated in Samaritan-facilitated peer groups, seeking meaning and finding strength for ministry. The groups were part of the Clergy and Congregation Care program.
