PrayerPray together using the TSP method (thank you, sorry, please)
Father God,
Thank you that Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. Thank you that Jesus gives usthe power to live the way that you want us to. Sorry for the times we don’t follow yourway. Please help us to stick with Jesus. Please help us to bear fruit, to grow to be more
like Jesus in the things that we think and say and do.
Amen
Response
Draw a vine with branches and grapes.
Spend a few minutes thinking about how you can strengthen the connection between thebranches and the main vine stem/trunk. In other words how you can strengthen yourrelationship with Jesus. E.g. reading the Bible, praying, meeting with other Christians,
On the individual grapes write some of the qualities that Jesus has that you would whatyou would like God to help you grow in your life
Memory verse
“I am the vine, and you are the branches. If you stay joined to me, and I stay joinedto you, then you will produce lots of fruit. But you cannot do anything without me.”
John 15:5 (CEV)

Jesus is theVine
Digging into the Bible
Read John 15:1-8 together.
• What picture does Jesus create? Draw it out if you find it helpful• What is he trying to teach his followers?• How do we become fruitful?• How do we remain in Jesus?• What is the type of fruit we should be producing? (See also Galatians 5:22-23)
The picture of the vine and branches is a great image to help us understand ourrelationship with Jesus. The branches get all the nourishment they need from the mainvine, if they don’t stay connected then they don’t get any nourishment and they won’t haveany grapes. When we stick with Jesus, spending time with him in prayer, learning from Hisword then we begin to grow more like him in the things we say and do, this is the fruitthat we produce.
