Marathon Fundraiser - October 5

The annual Marathon for Non-Public

Education is Friday, October 5. All Nativity

students will be participating and hope to

collect donations to surpass our $25,000

goal. It is especially important this year

that we pass our goal, because we will no

longer be participating in the spring

magazine drive.

Every penny raised goes

directly to Nativity

School! Please consider

financially supporting our

school during this

important fundraiser. You

can donate by pledging a

student who will walk in

the marathon, or by

donating during weekend

Masses October 6-

7. There will be envelopes available in the pews that can be

used for the donation. We humbly ask you to donate with a

generous heart. Thank you for your support!

Meeting - Monday, September 24, 7pm

NCCW’s first meeting of the year will be this

Monday evening in Steiner Hall. All women of

the parish are welcome. We will discuss our

plans and budget for the upcoming year.

Committee chairs are especially encouraged

to attend. NCCW offers many opportunities to

join in fun, fellowship, and prayer. Whether

you are brand new to the parish or a longtime

parishioner, please join us! Check us out on the parish

website, on our Facebook page, or on the NCCW website.

Mothers Club Book Club - Tuesday, September 25, 7:30pm

Mothers in all stages of life are welcome

to join Mothers Club Book Club! Come

and enjoy a night of discussion and

fellowship with other women from our

parish community. Our first meeting will

be this Tuesday evening, and we will

meet every other Tuesday thereafter at

7:30pm at the Eckberg residence (1300

Scheffer Ave.) We will decide at our first meeting what we

will be reading and discussing together, so make sure you

get in on the ground floor and bring your best suggestions!

Contact us at [email protected] with any

questions or suggestions.

Nativity Moms’ Club is your place for faith-based fellowship

and support. Please join us as we work together to deepen

our Catholic faith and strengthen bonds with our children

and each other. Nativity Moms' Club’s mission is to facilitate

opportunities for fellowship and spiritual development

among mothers of young children at Nativity of Our Lord.

Bible Timeline DVD Study - Thursdays beginning October 4

The Bible Timeline is a fascinating study

that takes participants on a journey

through the entire Bible. Join Lisa Kracht

on a deep into each period of salvation

history and discover the amazing story

woven throughout all of Scripture. Using

a unique color-coded system,

participants will learn the major people,

places, and events of the Bible and see

how they all come together to reveal the remarkable story of

our faith. This foundational study in The Great Adventure

Bible Study Series has helped hundreds of thousands of

Catholics learn to read and study the Bible.

The Bible Timeline DVD study will take place over 24 weeks

Thursday mornings in the church’s Gathering Room

beginning October 4 after the 8:15 am Mass. Linda Kracht

will be our facilitator and discussion leader for the series.

Student guides are available for $30 on the first day of the

study. To register, reserve your Study Guide or find out

more, contact Randy Mueller at (651) 696-5454 or

[email protected]

The Mass DVD Study - Saturdays beginning October 13

Walk through the liturgy with

Bishop Barron in his new

DVD Series The Mass on

Saturday mornings from 9-

10:30am beginning October

13 in Steiner Hall. You'll be

transformed through

insights on this most

privileged and intimate encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Participants in this seven-part series will see how the

Mass brings us out of the fallen world and into the heavenly

realm; how it resonates with a call from God and a response

from his people, the Church; and, most importantly, how we

are intimately joined with the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity

of Jesus through the Holy Eucharist.

The Mass will help you understand how to fully, consciously,

and actively participate in the “source and summit” of the

Christian life. A beautiful study guide to help you follow

along with these DVD presentations by Bishop Barron are

available for $25 at the opening session. To register or find

out more about this opportunity for Adult Faith Formation,

contact Randy Mueller at (651) 696-5454 or

[email protected].

40 Days for Life - September 26—November 4

40 Days for Life's Fall campaign begins this Wednesday! We

invite everybody to join in our positive efforts to protect

babies and families from the tragedy of abortion.

The focus of this movement is prayer and

fasting, community outreach, and

peaceful vigil. Nativity and neighboring

parishes will have three adopt-a-days of

prayer during these 40 days. Stay tuned

to upcoming bulletins for more

information. We pray that you will join us

in daily prayer for the vulnerable and also commit to an hour

or more of prayerful vigil at the local Planned Parenthood

abortion clinic in Saint Paul on our adopted days.

Sign-up sheets will be at the back of church later this month,

or you may sign up online at http://tiny.cc/StMarksRL. We

are looking for enthusiastic helpers for this lifesaving

campaign and all upcoming Respect Life events, so please

prayerfully consider joining us. Contact Karen McCann at

(612) 964-4522 or [email protected] to find out

more, or visit https://40daysforlife.com/

or https://plam.org/ to learn out more about the campaign.

O God, from generation to generation, you have called your

people to be the very aroma of life amidst a culture of

death. Now it is our turn. Prepare me. Send me. Use me. I

am eager to do my part. Stir your people everywhere to take

up this great work. Amen!

Children’s Liturgy Volunteers Needed

We need your help! Nativity of Our Lord is looking for new

wonderful volunteers to help out with the Sunday 9:30am

Mass Children's Liturgy program. This is a fun Sunday gospel

program we provide for children ages Pre-K through 1st

grade throughout the school year. Please contact Kailey

Buse at [email protected] or (651) 815-3203 for more

information.

Catechists & Support Needed

Volunteers are needed to serve

as a catechist (religion

teacher) for our grades 1-7

Wednesday evening Faith

Formation classes. We need

one catechist to offer a 9-

month, weekly commitment,

and a couple more to serve as substitutes. Prior experience

is preferred, but training is available for those who love their

Catholic Faith, are excited to share that with our children,

and have an eagerness to learn how to do that.

Team members are also needed to provide hospitality once

or twice a year. Contact Randy Mueller, Faith Formation

Director, at (651) 696-5454 or [email protected] to

learn more.
