High Street Happenings – the past year
High streets across the country have been having a tough time, but SEE3 volunteers have been working hard to promote our local traders by organising and supporting events which help to demonstrate their value to our community.
Working with the Forest Hill and Sydenham Societies we were delighted with the carol singing and lighting up of the high street Christmas trees.
We welcomed diversification with Guava Kitchen, a vegan cafe in Forest Hill, Artisan Village, an afterschool art club in Kirkdale and Dragonfly Yoga Studio in Sydenham.
Sydenham offered free seasonal events. The Easter Bonnet workshop and parade, a spooky Halloween with a costume competition and sponsored performances with Spontaneous Productions including Cinderella, the Christmas panto and the Old Time Music Hall as part of the Fun Palace.
With a small amount of funding from Forest Hill and Sydenham Assemblies, we have produced and delivered this, our eighth Christmas Calendar. Please support the activities on your doorstep and continue to show love to your high streets.
