Reliable identification in clearly defined protection zones

Within buildings locators generate a variable, adjustable detection field, which can be set in 0.5m increments up to 7 metres. With additional slave transmitter units, the detection field can also be adapted to larger security zones. In this way precise virtual security zones can be achieved for individual sectors of buildings.Receivers record data and information from tags within a radius of 25m and pass them on to a PC workstation for further evaluation and analysis.The PC workstation processes the data it receives from a tag according to a pre-programmed alarm scenario and via the defined interface, sets up communication to higher-level alarm management solutions, alarm servers, lightcall systems and DECT systems.

User-friendly softwareAcceptance by employees and users depends to a great extent on how easy it is to understand and operate the system. With its carefully optimised software and user in-terfaces and simple component handling, deister electro-nic shows that even complex security systems can achieve high acceptance by employees, patients and administra-tors. The tamper-proof software permits uninterrupted reporting of all alarm events, and provides appropriate protocols for automatic printouts and email transmission. In the real-time display all transactions and alarms are clearly shown by the management software. In the event of an alarm, a pop-up window opens on the PC work-station and shows all significant information about the event. In addition the stored floor plan of the alarm zone is displayed with the alarm location emphasised.

Intelligent featuresBi-directional communication between tags and system units enables information to be passed to individual tags in a system in the form of haptic feedback (vibration of the tag). Integral temperature monitoring of dementia tags permits automatic initiation of an alarm if the tem-perature exceeds or falls below specified values.

Simple video integrationBy integrating video into the security solutions presen-ted here, their value is further optimised. If the system is

equipped with integral video technology, there will be a local video recording of the alarm scene. The compact, clear and unambiguous presentation of all alarm factors on the PC workstation allows personnel to act objectively and give clear instructions to employees. The relevant alarm video provides important information about an alarm event, and is a significant factor for rapid clarifica-tion of the events leading to an alarm.

System solutions at a glance

Mobile help calls in care homes and clinicsIn care homes and clinics, patients and residents want to be able to move freely and safely around the building, but to be able to make a mobile call for help at any time they find themselves in a threatening situation. The amanTag solution enables this with a special patient transponder. Pressing a button on the transponder reliably initiates an alarm and determines the location of the caller. To con-firm that the help call has been sent, the caller receives feedback in the form of a vibration at the patient tag.

PersonalBasic - protects employees against attacksEmployees who work in hazardous areas carry a personal tag for their own protection. If the employee feels threa-tened, just pressing a button on the transmitter is enough to initiate an alarm. In the event of an alarm, the trans-ponder immediately sends a unique code to the receiver with information about the precise location of the person affected. Colleagues, gatekeepers and security personnel receive the alarm message on their PCs, telephones, mo-biles or pagers, and can react without delay.

Baby and mother tagsThe active baby tag protects newborns against kidnap-ping and mix-up. The mother tag allows passage out of the protected zone with the correct baby without initiating an alarm. The tags can be combined with passive trans-ponder technologies.

Patient and dementia tagsPatient and dementia tags are available in several diffe-rent versions. The UTD 1 is equipped with and a call button and a vibration module. The UTD 2 is suitable for dementia pa-tients and is available with a 3D watch label. In the UTD 2-SW version it can be simply worn under a normal wrist watch. In addition anti-allergic wrist straps are available for all tags.

Tags for personnel and asset protectionThese tag versions are used, for example, to protect bunches of keys, or security-relevant objects in prisons, industrial security zones, or other areas where valuable objects have to be prevented from disappearing. Typical applications are museums, mobile exhibitions and work-places with potential dangers.

Personal tagsThe personal tag is used to provide a mobile alarm call, and is available in two versions.Personal tag with two buttons, for acknowledging alarms and for initiating further functions. It can be worn on a light, anti-allergenic wrist strap. Personal tag with three buttons, for acknowledging alarms and for initiating further functions in the system; it has an eye for attaching it to a bunch of keys, or to permit it to be worn as a medallion.

Locator and receiverThe Locator is a main component of amanTag systems; it must be installed in the zone or at a door that is being monitored. The active sender radius is individually adju-stable over a range from 0.5 - 7m to suit local circum-stances. There are two variants for different operating ranges; the LCS 500 for 0.5 - 5m, and the LCD 700 for 0.5 - 7m. The Receiver RCS 1 is used as a receiver for alarm messages within a radius of 25m.
