Rule 32.1.1

Securement Chart:

Used as a secondary process when it makes the most sense and/or when the air brakes cannot be utilized for the primary process. The number of handbrakes needed varies on total train weight, and the grade in which youre securing your train on.

Retention Check:If youre traveling westward on a -3.2% grade and your train breaks apart, the rear portion going into emergency and stopping What procedure would we utilize to secure the portion of the train that broke off, and how would we know how many handbrakes we need to tie?
