introDuctionthe following document contains the Dextro energy triathlon itU World Championship series spon-
sorship, event Design and Branding guidelines. the event design, the sponsorship structure and
branding architecture are fixed. if for some reason there are changes the LOC will be advised accordingly. Below you will find the general requirements for sponsorship packag-es, branding, event design and the production of advertising materials. The LOC is obliged to follow the current and following “sponsorship, event Design and Branding guidelines”
for all relevant material and to secure written approval prior to production of sponsoring relevant
advertising material.
1 event title anD event logo:there are two versions of the series and the event titles - a long and a short version. the short
version can be only used in combination with the long version but has to be used a minimum of 50%
of the time. example for text usage: Use the long version for the title and the introducing words and
the short version for the rest of the text.
the following titles must be used exclusively for all written or spoken forms of communication. no
overhead or sub titles or other additional titles are allowed. neither in addition to the event title nor
as sub titles for the single races or sub events like expo etc.:
• long title of the series: Dextro energy triathlon itu World championship Series• short title of the series: Dextro energy triathlon Series• long title of single events: Dextro energy triathlon itu World championship city name (pre-
sented by local presenting Sponsor)• short title of single events: Dextro energy triathlon city name (presented by local presenting
Sponsor)• long title of the grand Final: Dextro energy triathlon itu World championship grand Final city
name (presented by local presenting Sponsor)• short title of the grand Final: Dextro energy triathlon grand Final city name (presented by local
presenting Sponsor)
the loC is obliged to exclusively use the Dextro energy triathlon itU World Championship City
name logo as event logo in all print material and public relations work.
Dextro energy triathlon itU World Championship City logos and all designs where the logo is inte-
grated are intellectual property of the itU.

2.2 venue colourthe venue colour code is blue (pantone 2935). the loC must accept the specifications for a
consistent colour coding for the banner areas in the swim start and exit areas as well as the finish
and transition areas. every loC sponsor must approve the use of their multi colour logo on the blue
coloured background in these areas. the aim is to establish a consistent image in highly segmented
areas to raise the visibility and recognition of the individual sponsors and elevate the effectiveness
of a consistent overall appearance.
2.3 arena anD courSe “look anD Feel”
2.3.1 venue anD courSe Selectionthe setup of venue/ arena and course follows technical and commercial aspects. Fulfilling the
technical requirements is the first step, while creating the venue and course. if all technical
aspects are respected the choice of where the course is going along and how the arena is set
up should follow commercial aspects. the venue has to give enough space for spectators on
grand stands on both sides of the finish chute/ transition area. the course should give a view
at what is typical for the area. the tV pictures of the arena atmosphere with thousands of
spectators and the course alongside are the outstanding characteristics which will be seen on
tV around the world. this way, the host cities can present their uniqueness and the enthusi-
asm of their people.
2.3.2 branDing SectionS on courSethe branding on the venue and on course is divided into sections. the decision where the different
branding sections on course will be, has to be agreed between the loC and the sponsorship, event
Design and Branding Director and the tV production Director. the sections shouldn’t be mixed up
too much to give the sponsors a strong performance, but also the sections should also assure the
sponsors as much tV exposure as possible. this could mean, that some high tV relevant branding
sections have to be separated into several sponsors. if the loC gives the right of course branding
to a various little sponsors, for example like 10x20m banners on course, this banner section has
to be in a row in order to secure a clean look and feel on all course sections. this kind of banner sec-
tions will be avoided in tV relevant areas.
2.4 Setup branDingthe loC accepts full responsibility for the setup and placement of branding and advertising mate-
rial. all materials, staff and permits that are necessary to set up the global sponsor and the itU
branding and advertising material has to be provided by the loC without any costs for the global
sponsors or the smt. that incl. all services and materials that are directly in use, like staff, barri-
ers, generators, weights for the buoys etc. and all services and materials that are indirectly in use,
like transportation etc. 1750 m of barriers are required for example to set up the soft banners
on course. setup and placement of all global and local branding and advertising material must be
previously defined in detail with the sponsorship, Design and Branding Director, mike Wilde mike.
[email protected] +49 40 88180043. the final decision on the exact position of all branding mate-
rials will be made by the sponsorship, event Design and Branding Director.
2.5 Webthe Dextro energy triathlon itU World Championship series team provides the loC with a website
in the series look and feel. the loC has to provide the local content in native language and english.
Furthermore the loC has to translate the international news into the native language. the smt
will set up a global newsletter system for the participants of the age group races. the loC has to
support the global newsletter with local content, information about the event, stories around the
event etc.

exampleS general• there are three different ways to compose a layout
depending on the usage. each delivers the best graphic
condition in its specific purpose
1. photo Way• For adverts and posters photos have to be used
• the layout uses photographic backgrounds where the
box element is positioned on top of. Between the single
elements the image-background gets visual.
• it can be used in adverts or editorial covers for example
2. triple croSS pattern Way• the colour-pattern is used when there is no reason to
use photos or the purpose of the layout is more repre-
sentative. the pattern is a strong element of recognition.
• it can be used for identity cards, invitations, category
pages or front covers as well
• the angle of the pattern is inspired by the triple cross-
element at the main logo.
• the colours of the pattern should not touch the box
element colours. the large spaces are coloured in 100%
and 30% of the venue blue, thin lines can be mixed in
positions.
• Between die single elements the image-background gets
visual.
3. venue blue Way• this venue blue is used for maximum striking purposes
• the colour is 100% Venue Blue
• Use it for signage or other material when the written
message has to be clearly to identify

tent performance. Repeated small doses of
dextrose allow you to maintain your blood
sugar level and therefore your concentration
ability at a consistently high level over many
hours.
Daily activities: The little helper in many day-to-day situations. And there are innumerable situations in day-
to-day life where dextrose can quickly help,
for example when working around the house
or in the garden, or to “reanimate” tired
children who come home exhausted after
running around outside.
Bring out your best.

o reach one’s personal goals stamina and energy are required. Dextro Energy provides a source
of immediate energy. Dextrose enters the bloodstream directly for better concen-tration and performance.
Sports: A proper energy supply can be the decisive winning factor.Endurance sports burn from 500 to 2,000
kcal above normal daily caloric intake levels.
Dextrose can quickly supply muscles with
energy. Maximum performance can be
improved by approx. 4%, while continuous
performance rates can be improved by as
much as 15%. A proper energy supply to
body and mind supports optimum perfor-
mance and can thus be a decisive factor for
victory.
In school and on the job: Maintaining consistent performance despite hours of concentration.
Individuals who must concentrate fully for
extended periods of time such as students,
physicians, cashiers, drivers or laborers
need an energy boost to maintain consis-
tent performance. Repeated small doses of
dextrose allow you to maintain your blood
sugar level and therefore your concentration
ability at a consistently high level over many
hours.
Daily activities: The little helper in many day-to-day situations. And there are innumerable situations in day-
to-day life where dextrose can quickly help,
for example when working around the house
or in the garden, or to “reanimate” tired
children who come home exhausted after
running around outside.
Bring out your best.

the triple cross is a part of the Dextro energy triathlon itU
World Championship series/City logo. it can be used as a
graphical element on items where the use of background pic-
ture is not possible. For example on t-shirts, towels or other
merchandising items. it can also be used as the shape of
items to give the items a characteristic form. For example
for cups or medals.
Where ever the triple cross element is used, it has to be
used together with the series or event logo. Both elements
have to be used the same proportion. it is not allowed to use
the triple cross in exchange of the series or event logo.
the itU logo has to be used on all merchandising products,
volunteer shirts, finisher shirts etc.

styles (fonts and colours) are set for each website via a
Cascading style sheet (Css) and bring a consistent theme
across the series and event websites. Content
pasted into the website editor from sources as word contain
inline formatting that will corrupt the website style. When
copying and pasting
content, first copy and paste into notepad to remove all
formatting.
While the system resizes images to fit the container size on
the website images may become distorted. here‘s a list of

representation of the ITU identity. When possible, ITU’s
blue must be used as the primary colour of the image or

If you are unclear about when to use the corporate logo,
please contact ITU.
Refer to page 1.2 for colours.
The background colour should be a full ood of colour and should
never act as a container for the logo.
ITU_logo_onBlue.eps
The logo should never sit on a page in the blue box. This version is only to be used if the page background colour is blue.
