About Secretlab

Secretlab is made up of gamers, designers, artists, product developers, business developmers, and marketers with experience in companies such as Aftershock, Razer, and Modbot. Our business philosophy is to remove fluff from products, reduce overheads, and offer cost-effective yet consistently good products.

Having been in the professional gaming scene for over a decade, we have endorsed or tried many different gaming related products in the market. We noticed an emerging trend where hefty price tags were being weakly justified by 'high end' unnecessary features. We wanted to go against this trend – and hence Secretlab was born.

What is Google Cardboard?

Google Cardboard is a Google project to make an affordable, DIY, cardboard virtual-reality head-mounted display powered by any modern smartphone.

It is made using cardboard, lenses, and magnets.

Google does NOT manufacture their own google cardboards; they simply provide the recommended guidelines and baseline application for manufacturers and app developers.

What is Virtual Reality?

In short, Virtual Reality is a realistic 3D experience.

It is made better by mainly two points: head-tracking technology and magnified image.

Another example of VR is Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR.

What is Secretlab Cardboard?

Secretlab Cardboard is a simple, no frills, high quality VR viewer based on Google Cardboard.

In contrast to no-brand manufacturers, we use quality lenses, stronger cardboard & velcros, and provide NFC & headstrap.

The Secretlab Cardboard also comes pre-assembled. Instead of fixing it up from scratch, all the parts have been installed. All one needs to do is to detatch the viewer from the cover and roll it in.

Compatibility(OS)

Android: Any android phone that can run the Google Cardboard App(Jelly Bean 4.1 & above) are mostly supported. From our testing, a small selection of phones have problem running the cardboard at its intended resolution, notably Xiaomi phones. You may want to download the Cardboard app and see if the resolution is proper before proceeding to purchase one.

The current range of apps for iOS devices is quite limited, but great apps still exist and are only bound to become more plentiful with time. Take note however, that iOS devices do not support NFC.

The Secretlab Classic 5" version fits 4" -  5"  phones.

The Secretlab Extended 5.7" version fits 5.1" - 5.7" phones.
