Greetings, The Family Festival is just around the corner! Coming Sunday September 8th af-ter the Mass at the Grotto there will be games for kids, amazing food, music and time for fellowship. This is the best opportunity for you to invite friends and fam-ily, especially those who have fallen away from the church. It’s also a great time for the kids to get a sense of what it means to be a part of a Church Community. God desires that we spend time together, share meals together and get to know one another. It is within a church community that we get a sense of belonging and find out others needs. We can share how God is working in our lives and let peo-ple know things going on in the parish that they may not know about. It’s a way to “knit” ourselves together into a beautiful garment for the Lord. We also hope to have a few times set up for people to take a tour of the church, which is an amazing thing to do since this church has so many holy items and history. Please keep this in your prayers as we organize the event. If you haven’t done so yet, please invite friends and share the 2019 Family Festival flyer. You can find the it in the back of the church, on the website, Facebook and in Enews. You would be surprised by the number of people who wait for an invitation. It’s the Christian way to invite. Jesus invites us to open our hearts to Him so that He can come into our lives to heal our wounds. God is always inviting us into His love. So, don’t shy away from inviting people—just share. Make a list of those who you could reach out to and let them know we would love to see them join us for this fun day. Personally, I can’t wait to try all the food. Yum! This is truly the best Hispanic food in town, best Italian sandwiches and the best eggrolls. Really. The best. I hope you won’t miss this opportunity to share this beautiful day organized by the St. Anthony community with others. It is a treasure the Lord and put together. Also, if you would like to help out on the day, please feel free to call, email or text me. Your Sister in Christ, Kim Lehman Faith Formation and Communications C 515.202.2517 [email protected]

MINISTRIES Man-Up West Power Lunch, September

The Sacrament of Reconciliation: Rising Again to New Life

Monsignor Frank Bognanno returns

to the Power Lunch-- this time with

stories from the Confessional.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is

one of the most unique and beautiful

aspects of Catholicism.

Jesus Christ, in His abundant love and

mercy, established the Sacrament of

Confession so we as sinners can ob-

tain forgiveness for our sins and rec-

oncile with God and the Church.

The Sacrament “washes us clean,”

and renews us in Christ.

This is a “must see” event whether

you regularly participate in this Sacra-

ment or not.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation will

be offered following Msgr. Bognan-

no’s presentation.
