LEADING THE CHARGE!

Robin Pozgar recently shared this posting with me. It shows the essence of our Christian faith. “HE LIVES!” Because He Lives, We Live. “Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound! That saved a wretch like me!” We live because the Power in his Blood, shed for us on that Old Rugged Cross. “So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross … Till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross … And exchange it some day for a crown.” Amen.

Leo Update Leo has been on an extended Winter Break. Too cold to go sniffing.

Leo and I hope to get back to our “Nose Work” classes in April.

Special Services & Events Pre-Service Bible Study Pre-Service Bible Studies are scheduled for April 14, May 5 and June 9, 2019

April 14 – Psalm Sunday On Psalm Sunday, we will hold a Joint Service at Greenfield at 10:00 AM. The Joint Choir will sing – always a treat for all of us. Join us as we mark the beginning of Holy Week 2019.

Holy Week Services April 18 - Maundy Thursday Service

Maundy Thursday Service will be at Grace. We start with a Covered Dish Meal at 6:00 PM, followed by the Service at 7:00 PM with Holy Communion.

April 19 - Good Friday Service Good Friday Service is at Greenfield at 7:00 PM.

Easter Egg Hunt

Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Mt. Hope on April 20

at 1:00 PM. All children are invited to attend.

April 21 - Easter Sunday Services Easter Sunday Services will be held at all three churches at the regular time. All three Services will have Holy Communion. Please plan on attending the most Holy Day of our Christian Faith.

May 5 -Blessing of the Fields Sunday The Blessing of the Fields will be celebrated at the Joint Service at Mt. Hope on May 5, 2019. The Pre-service Bible Study will begin at 9:30 AM. A Covered Dish Brunch will follow the Service.

June 9 - Pentecost Sunday Pentecost Sunday will be celebrated at a Joint Service at Grace. Pre-service Bible Study will begin at 9:30 AM. Holy Communion will be served. June 30 – Fourth of July Celebration Our annual Fourth of July Celebration will be held on June 30 at

the Joint Service at Grace beginning with Pre-service Bible Study at 9:30 AM. This Service has become a favorite as we celebrate the birth of our nation in thanksgiving to our God in word and song.

Joint Consistory Meeting The Joint Consistory will meet on Thursday, April 4 at Mt. Hope at 7:00 PM.

Video Recording Project Through a grant from the Penn West Conference, we are purchasing a mobile video recorder, which will allow us to video Special Services at Mt. Hope and Greenfield. This is in addition to our current video re-cording of all Grace Services.

If you miss a Service and/or would like to watch a Service, let Pastor Bob know and he will get you the recording. Likewise, if you know someone who would like to see a Service, just let Pastor Bob know.

Bulletins Through a grant from the Penn West Conference, we have purchased and installed a Printer at Lisa Pejack’s home. She no longer has to travel to Grace to print the bulletins, thus reducing Lisa’s travel time and the associated mileage expense. The Trinity Gazette The Trinity Gazette is published on a quarterly basis. The Trinity Gazette is available on the Church’s Web site and hard copies are being distributed at each of the three churches. If you are not receiving it or if you know of someone who would enjoy our publi-cation, let me know and we will get the names on our distribution list.

Church Web Site is www.greenfieldcharge.org We invite everyone to submit articles and/or information to Jeanne Mowry or Pastor Bob. The deadline for information submission is the 15th of the month prior to publication.

Newsletter Team The Newsletter Team has finalized a distribution list. The distribution list will be used to mail out copies of The Trinity Gazette to those who do not pick up their copy at church. This will ensure that The Trinity Ga-zette is being received by everyone in the congregations and by our friends. W.I.N.G.S (Women Into Nurturing God’s Spirit)

WINGS meets on the third Monday of each month at 7pm at Green-

field. The next meeting dates are April 15, May 20 and June 17. No ma-

jor projects underway at the moment BUT it’s never too early to start

planning and buying for the basket auction at Community Days!

WINGS sponsored the March birthday party for the residents of the

Springfield unit at Homewood. Cupcakes, ice cream and soda pop for

all! A resident at Homewood entertained the group on the piano.

WINGS purchased and wrapped gifts for the 13 residents celebrating

March birthdays. A good time was had by all!

BIBLE STUDY

This year, we will be reading Max Lucado's 'Glory Days.'

'Are the people in your church feeling stuck? Caught in a rut? Fighting the same battles and facing the same

temptations? Wondering if this is as good as the Christian life gets? If so, there's good news. We were all made for more. We were made for Glory Days.'

Our first Bible Study meeting will probably be Tue 4/23. Keep an eye on the bulletin and on the Charge Calendar for updates (http://www.greenfieldcharge.org/charge-calendar.html).

We will be meeting at Grace for April, May will be at Greenfield with June at Mt Hope.

Everyone is welcomed to attend. We may not have the answers, but we learn and grow and have a little fun while we're at it.

Anyone interested in attending a Pirates-Mets game on Sunday, Aug 4? Raystown Bus has a Blair Co. Day @ PNC Park in Pittsburgh. Cost is $85, which includes transportation, ticket along 1st Base Line, and $10 Food Voucher. Let Rick Walter know if you're interested.

The Message of the Cross

As we lift high the cross,

there's so much to gain

in the mystery and beauty

the cross can contain.

The message it shares

can bring great joy to you---

Joy you can carry

in all that you do.

It's a message of caring---

a free gift of love---

We need only accept

from our Father above...

In that cross is the sacrifice

Jesus Christ made,

So our souls could be cleansed

with the great price He paid.

It's a personal promise

to me and to you,

That God loves and accepts us

when we love Him too.

our Mom, Mabel Cooper. We dearly loved her and will

greatly miss her. Comfort is knowing we will be with her
