180 News Items Second International Conference on Management of Technolow u4 Miami, Florida, U.S.A., February 2%March 2, 1990 In February of 1988, the University of Miami sponsored the Fist International Conference on Technology Management, attended by 300 re- searcher, engineers, managers, and students from more than 30 countries, representing industry, universities, research establishments, public in- stitutions and international organizations. Because of its overwhelming success, the Uni- versity of Miami’s Department of Industrial En- gineering and School of Continuing Studies will jointly sponsor the second International Con- ference on Management of Technology. The objectives of the second Conference are to expand on the research investigations of the first Conference, to exchange information and experi- ence among scholars and practitioners, and to provide a stimulating, interdisciplinary environ- ment for presentation and discussion of the latest research and industrial applications. The program will focus on predicting, develop- ing, implementing, and controhing technological changes to improve competitiveness in the global market within industrial, educational, research, and public policy making environments.
