SEBASTOPOL PRIMARY SCHOOL
RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY & READY TO LEARN
INFORMUS NO. 4, March 22nd 2018
Principal’s Message
Student Leadership Special Assembly It was wonderful to have so many family members at school for our presentation of the 2018 Student Leaders. We have amazing student role models throughout the school. Our sincere apologies to families whose children did not receive their badges, this was an oversight and we sincerely apologise.
Ballarat Begonia Festival Sebastopol Primary School students, along with our friends at Canadian Lead and Mount Blowhard Primary Schools were invited to participate in carrying the Chinese Dragon, Gum Loong in the recent Ballarat Begonia Festival Parade.
This was a wonderful opportunity for our students and parents to take part.
Chinese Dragon, Gum Loong was awarded the Ballarat Begonia Parade Mayors Choice - Perpetual Trophy.
Thank you to all our students and families that participated on the day.
‘78th Storey Treehouse’ Excursion We had a wonderful trip to see ‘The 78th Storey Treehouse’ at Wendouree Performing Arts Centre. It was a great presentation of the much loved novel. We were so impressed by the conduct of our students.
Sports Carnival 2018 - Congratulations to Bedggood on winning the 2018 Athletics Carnival. The 2018 House Sports Carnival was a great success. The earlier timeslot proved to be much better for our excited students who demonstrated great sportsmanship all day. There were a number of very impressive individual performances and I was proud of the care that the older students showed to younger students throughout the day. The teamwork of Reynolds, Bedggood and Wyres was another highlight of the day. Special thanks to: Ken and Tony for the marvellous set up. Nadine Ogilvie for her organisation and coordination
of the entire event. The Fundraising Committee for a fabulous BBQ and
raffle sales. The staff and volunteers for their efforts throughout
the day. Christie and Wendy for scoring. Tanya for all the pre Sport Day administration
Families and friends who attended. It was a wonderful day for our school community.
