We have amazing student role models throughout the school. Our sincere apologies to families whose children did not receive their badges, this was an oversight and we sincerely apologise. Ballarat Begonia Fesval Sebastopol Primary School students, along with our friends at Canadian Lead and Mount Blowhard Primary Schools were invited to parcipate in carrying the Chinese Dragon, Gum Loong in the recent Ballarat Begonia Fesval Parade. This was a wonderful opportunity for our students and parents to take part. Chinese Dragon, Gum Loong was awarded the Ballarat Begonia Parade Mayors Choice - Perpetual Trophy. Thank you to all our students and families that parcipated on the day. ‘78th Storey TreehouseExcursion We had a wonderful trip to see The 78th Storey Treehouseat Wendouree Performing Arts Centre. It was a great presentaon of the much loved novel. We were so impressed by the conduct of our students. Sports Carnival 2018 - Congratulaons to Bedggood on winning the 2018 Athlecs Carnival. The 2018 House Sports Carnival was a great success. The earlier meslot proved to be much beer for our excited students who demonstrated great sportsmanship all day. There were a number of very impressive individual performances and I was proud of the care that the older students showed to younger students throughout the day. The teamwork of Reynolds, Bedggood and Wyres was another highlight of the day. Special thanks to: Ken and Tony for the marvellous set up. Nadine Ogilvie for her organisaon and coordinaon of the enre event. The Fundraising Commiee for a fabulous BBQ and raffle sales. The staff and volunteers for their efforts throughout the day. Chrise and Wendy for scoring. Tanya for all the pre Sport Day administraon Families and friends who aended. Principal’s Message

Student Leadership Special Assembly It was wonderful to have so many family members at school for our presentation of the 2018 Student Leaders. We have amazing student role models throughout the school. Our sincere apologies to families whose children did not receive their badges, this was an oversight and we sincerely apologise.

Ballarat Begonia Festival Sebastopol Primary School students, along with our friends at Canadian Lead and Mount Blowhard Primary Schools were invited to participate in carrying the Chinese Dragon, Gum Loong in the recent Ballarat Begonia Festival Parade.

School Council Annual General Meeting Our School Council 2018 Annual General Meeting was well attended last night and I am pleased to welcome two new members, Rebecca Kennon and Peter Cook. All the positions of School Council are now filled. I would like to thank the ongoing and new members for a very productive and proactive meeting last night.

Reports, correspondence and items approved and discussed: President and Principal's 2017 AGM report. 1. Curriculum Report form Audra Lawes.

2. February Finance reports were approved. Parents

are valuing the Centrepay payment scheme. The

school has received a higher percentage of Parent

Payments than in previous years. If parents would

like to use Centrepay please contact Andrea in the

school office.

3. Junior School Council February Report.

4. Aug 2018 Year 3-6 Student Camp Cave Hill Creek

$260 approx. cost.

5. Kyme-Maree Bailey resigned due to personal

reasons. We thank Kyme for her support of School

Council and Sebastopol Primary School.

6. Lynette, the ‘Read to Dudley and Breakfast Club’

volunteer conveyed her positive impression of the

school. Lynette said ”The students are awesome the

staff do a great job”!

7. Storm Damage – we are awaiting the repair of lights

and carpet cleaning.

8. Work out the front has been too slow and School

Council conveyed their concern about the children’s

access to the Junior Playground and Sandpit.

Michelle is in regular contact with the contractor and

she will keep School Council updated.

9. Easter Raffle – tickets will be sold at the Sports

Carnival and at the School Office. A request to all

parents to donate a Chocolate Egg to the Raffle

please? Tickets 3 for $1!

10. Code of Conduct, Standing Orders and

Responsibilities of School Council Members were

discussed with dates and times for meetings

confirmed for 2018.

11. Cyber Safety – Parent information session to be

provided by Des Hudson 2pm 23rd April. All parents

are welcome to attend. An afternoon tea will be

provided.

12. School marketing and student numbers were

discussed. We have had a Prep inquiry for 2019, two

new enrolments and 4 more inquiries.

13. Members shared a school highlight form February.

Highlights included: the Begonia Festival Gum Loong

Dragon on parade, Bullying No Way display, student

cohesion and calmness and the Prep-Year 2 students

describing their learning goals at assembly.

End of Term 1 and Easter Raffle 1. School will finish at 1:30 Thursday 29th

March. 2. There will be a Whole School Assembly

at 1:00pm to award Attendance Certificates and draw the Easter Raffle.

3. Please send in Chocolates and Easter Eggs for our raffle. Thanks in advance.

Thank you to families and friends of the Sebastopol Primary School Community. We have had lots of vouchers collected so far. There is only one week to go so keep

collecting. Make sure you drop your vouchers into the box at the General Office or Sebastopol Coles no later than 28th March 2018.

The following students have been successful in qualifying for the District Sports next Tuesday 27th March, 2018. Congratulations and we wish you all the best. Notes have been sent home today and must be returned by Monday 26th March.

The Booklist Charge of $95 that was

on your Family Account is now

overdue. Thank you to those

families who have already paid this

fee. If you are having difficulty paying

your Family Account there are a couple of options. The

first one is BPay and now Centrepay. If you would like

more information or assistance on setting up a payment

plan please feel free to come and see me at the General

Office for a confidential chat.

If your Family Details have changed! This

means residential or postal address, phone

number, emergency contact names and

numbers, email, living arrangements, family

orders or court orders please advise the

General Office immediately so that we have

the most up to date information on our database in case of

an emergency.

Learning Club is designed to provide your

child with extra help with Literacy and

Numeracy and will be running at the school

from 3.10pm to 4.30pm Wednesday

afternoons starting on Wednesday 18th April

and running through to Wednesday 5th
