the bma differenceErgonomics is the fundamental cornerstone that our company was founded on. As the brainchild of a Physiotherapist and a Mechanical Engineer, BMA have consistently pioneered revolutionary concepts on improving the interaction a user has with their working environment.

We have designed our seating to focus on supporting the Pelvis, rather than Lumbar region, and developed a patented split–seat mechanism that translates our advanced theory into practice. This pelvic centered methodology offers the very best ergonomic support to users whilst they conduct daily tasks at the workstation.

Our Axia range addresses issues associated with the multiple postures and angles of view experienced by every user. By providing comprehensive reinforcement to critical anatomical locations on the body which in turn encourages a constant, ergonomically correct relationship with the workstation.

We advocate implementing this strategy as a pro-active approach to workplace ergonomics to act as a preventative methodology to muscoskeletal disorders.

It is always preferable to minimise the chances of developing pain and discomfort if at all possible.

Across our product ranges, we take steps to ensure that the materials we use, and the manufacturing processes we employ, are sympathetic to the environment. Many of our products use a large percentage of recycled materials – an Axia chair is made up of 67% reused componentry - demonstrating our commitment to the environment whilst still produc-ing an industry leading product.

By adopting a cradle to cradle approach in our processes, we have proven that green ethics and corporate success are not mutually exclusive. designed for disassemblyWe have long been an advocate of designing products with consideration for what happens to them after the end of their useful life. The ethical principles that we incorporate into our seating have been industry leading for many years, and we are continually evolving our design concepts and manufacturing processes to reduce waste and maximise product lifespan.

Our award winning Axia range of task chairs are built on a modular system, a concept which has many functional and environmental benefits.

The chassis of the chair has been designed to accommodate simple interchanging of peripheral componentry.

For example, the seat and back pads operate on a clip on/off system – ideal for elementary maintenance or if the workspace takes on a different aesthetic.

This same component system is then crucial to our disassembly process. Being designed in such a modular fashion enables our dedicated dismantling line to quickly and efficiently segregate the materials into the relevant recycling bays. And, of course, the whole chair is almost 100% recyclable.

An Axia chair, excluding upholstery, comprises of 130 parts that can be assembled or disassembled in just 10 minutes - and over 80% of our materials are sourced from only 10 long standing suppliers.

What happens to your chair once it comes to the end of its useful working life? The focus on this question is ever more prevalent in a society which is increasingly concerned about potential environmental impacts.

Well, we would like to buy our Axia back please.

BMA Nomique have championed a scheme in which we will procure your old task seating back for a pre-defined, residual amount of money. We are confident that our products will stand the test of time and do not necessarily have to be dismantled and recycled once you are done with them – when we receive them back we will repair, refurbish and upcycle your old Axia for additional use.

Our buy-back scheme takes into account the whole life costs of a product and is designed to ensure that we offer our customers excellent products, excellent value for money and excellent warranties. On top of this you can rest easy knowing that you are dealing with an environmentally conscious company who continually strive to meet and exceed the industry norms.
