Humidifier OperationsYour new Sears humidifier is designed tosatisfy home humidity requirementsthrough the principle of evaporation ofwater into the air.

After water is added to the cabinet, the fil-ters begin to soak up the water andbecome totally saturated in approximately30 minutes. Air is drawn in from the rear of

the humidifier and through the filters bymeans of circulation fans. As air passesthrough the filters, moisture is absorbedinto the air and then released through thetop of the humidifier. This moist air isreleased in the form of vapor. No waterdroplets will enter the home. All evapora-tion into the air takes place in the humidi-tier, which means that the residue left byevaporating water is not passed into thehome, but remains in the filter.

CAUTION: Use only 42-14900 EPA

Registered Bacteriostat availablefrom SEARS Retail store. Under nocircumstances should you use watertreatment products designed for Roto

be t or U trason c hum d f ers.

ters. it is best to position humidifier next toan inside wall. Hot air registers and coldair from outside walls can affect the effi-ciencies of the controls. Unit should not be

placed where warm air from a hot air reg-ister blows directly on unit.Step 2The humidifier should be positioned withthe back (cord exit side), at least 2 inchesaway from the wall. Air needs to enterthrough the louvers in the rear of the cab-inet in order for the humidifier to operate atpeak efficiency

no longer forms.

Speed ControlYour Kenmore humi_r has a three

speed rotary fan control. The higher theair flow speed, the more water is evapo-rated and released into the air. Low speed( • ) is the quietest and is provided forconditions that may not require as high anevaporation rate.

Water Level Indicator

This humidifier is equipped with a water levelgauge located in the center of the control panel. When the cabinet is full of water the large win-dow opposite the scale will show green. Aswater is depleted the amount of green willdecrease to correspond with the scale.

left in it, the small window next to Fill on thecontrol panel will appear orange and theunit will automatically shut off.
