Remember to talk to the children you work with about copyright. Children should also be learning to summarise or representing information in another way, rather than copying and pasting huge chunks of text. This is meaningless.

Find the Safari Icon and tap once on it with your finger. It should be at the bottom of the screen.

To search: enter your key words in the google box in the top right. This saves time and is quicker than going to www.google.com

Use the arrow in the top left to go back. To increase the size of the web peg place two fingers on the screen and gently pull apart.

If you need to copy some text to quote in your work then you will need to highlight the area needed. Tap the screen on the text and gently drag so that just the text you want is highlighted blue. Now tap on the bubble that says "Copy".

To search for images, use the Google search box in the same way. Then once the web page of search results has loaded tap on any of the images. This will result in the page becoming a carousel of images.

You can cycle through these images by movingly left and right with your finger. To save or copy an image hold your finger down for a few seconds and select the option you need.

If you find a website that you know you will need again, then you can pin it to the iPaf home screen. To do this tap on the icon to the left of the URL/ website address.

You could choose bookmark, but for greater accessibility tap on " Add to Home Screen"

Please note that some websites require an add-in, in order to display some animations or interactive content. This is called Adobe Flash Player. For a string of complicated and annoying reasons iPads will not display some or all of websites that contain Flash.

You will get an error like those below:

It is worth knowing this as sometimes a teacher may reference a website in their planning without first checking whether it works on iPad.

One solution, though not ideal is to use an app that mimics running Flash, such as Rover.

Try launching the Rover App and then typing in/ navigating to the site that you had difficulty viewing.

This is changing of course and Website developers are building their sites using mr compatible technology, or they are ditching their websites and building apps.
