If you’ve ever used or conducted searches on sites like Amazon.com, iTunes
or Netix, you’re probably already familiar with a concept search. Just as
these sites will recommend new products similar to ones you’ve previously
viewed or purchased, CareerBuilder’s Resume Match technology looks
at resumes you’ve either uploaded or searched to generate other,
similar rsums.
Resume Match enables recruiters to quickly nd resumes based on specied
criteria. The context-sensitive engine identies candidates in several
ways to nd and sort applicants based on your desired requirements.

Sure, users might not be able to take a fun, “Which ‘Golden Girls’ Character

More detailS
The information you might nd on a social network is not as detailed as
th infrmatin cntaind in th rsum databas, ithr. Rarly ds a
LinkedIn prole include a list of that person’s salary information, and notall proles contain detailed job descriptions beyond current or previous job
titles. Without these descriptions, it is difcult to decipher if a candidate
possesses the specic skill sets required for a certain position.
Job titles such as “Account Manager” or “Project Manager,” for example,
ar cmmnly applid t a varity f psitins with varyin rls,
responsibilities and levels of expertise. Depending on the industry,
company or eld, the responsibilities and skills needed for these types
f psitins culd b vastly diffrnt. In rdr t undrstand what
transfrabl skills a crtain candidat psssss, additinal dtails ar
ncssary.
FaSter reSultS
Sorting through proles on social networks requires taking the time and
labr t manually cut thruh th cluttr f prsnal infrmatin that has
no relevance to an employment search. The proles in the resume database,
n th thr hand, ar limitd t infrmatin that is carr-rlvant, and
make it easier for recruiters to nd them.
Additinally, as ntd arlir, buildin a pl f candidats thruh scial

have when it comes to fullling immediate talent needs.
