It’s not just the fluHundred of thousands of people are dying.Family and friends, crying and crying. It’s not just the flu.Not being allowed to give a cuddle,Could never be seen, in a huddle. It’s not just the flu.Spending summer alone sadly in the UKForbidden from soaring in the sky on an airplane. It’s not just the flu.One minute they’re here, the next they’re gone.Just think, that’s just one of the cons. It’s not just the flu.My dad and the NHS are superheroes. But I just wish, the death toll was 0.It’s not just the flu.Spending my birthday alone without my family or friends,Wow, I just hope these terrible times will soon end. It’s not just the flu.Doctors, nurses noses covered in blistersI can’t see my own two big sisters! It definitely is not just the flu! Please! Stay home, save lives! Protect the NHS.It’s not just the flu, by Isabel

Jonathon V and Edward V in Year 7 Ashdown - showed excellent initiative and team work by working together over the phone to complete an analysis of Chapter

I have been delighted by the responses from 9aen1 on analysis of ‘Catcher in the Rye’. Several students have written perceptive analysis of the text which has been

so impressive and interesting to read. Harvey J, Archie F, Bradley M, Jessica B Serena P, Mya R, Lucy B, Freya M, Dylan M, Toby C, Sam C deserve a special

What have our staff been up to in the Easter Holidays?

Ms Fida, Head of Ashdown

‘I set the Ashdown students to learn a new skill over the

Easter holidays. I challenged myself and Ms. Gullan to

draw a ‘Self Portrait’. But it was a disaster!

So, I didn’t give up and found an old template to paint

some sunflowers instead!’

What have our staff been up to in the Easter Holidays?

Ms Gullan, Deputy Head of Ashdown

‘I thought my dog would be pleased I was home but I keep finding him hiding

away! I really don’t get it. I am such great company.

Why does he look so sad?!

What have our staff been up to in the Easter Holidays?

Ms Croft, Associate Principal

‘We decided to get creative and paint on something other than

paper! Both my daughters pained a side of my face the way they

wanted so I ended up being half ‘Joker’ and half ‘Rainbow’! We are missing you all and sending best

wishes!

What have our staff been up to in the Easter Holidays?

Ms Allen, Director of Maths

‘I have been painting over the Easter break. I haven’t painted since

Secondary School! It’s kept me from going ‘dotty’ and has been very

therapeutic. I’ve used both watercolors and acrylic paints for this piece on

paper and can’t wait for the May half term to create another piece for my

home gallery. Missing being at school and looking forward to return.’

What have our staff been up to in the Easter Holidays?

Ms Malik, Director of Science

My family and I spent time organising our garden to create an area where we could grow some fruits and vegetables.

We all cleared the area and my husband made the planters from some

scrap wood we had left over.

We filled the planters and planted plants and seeds ready for growing.
