Neighborhood Belonging Library Dedication 11/25

Missions Team and Barbara Nordlund invite you to join us for the dedication of ourchurch’s Neighborhood Belonging Library at 11:30 am on Sunday, November 25. Thelibrary will be filled with children’s literature featuring diverse characters and delightfulstories, so that all children can find reflections of themselves and their lives in abook. The diversity of stories will also allow them to experience lives different fromtheir own, learning about shared life experiences with other people, religions, races, and cultures. It is a small step towards bringing children who might feel like others intobelonging and we’re excited that it is becoming a reality. Our library will be dedicated to Don Nordlund – a teacher, lifelong learner, and championof children, who was passionate about kids and reading as well as sharing God’s loveand blessings to make life better for those around us.

This library is the second of ten that Missions Team will be building and installingthroughout our community and, hopefully, the state, as a part of showing our#3greatloves and our love for children. The team has started a book drive in order to stock the libraries. If you’d like to help, please consider purchasing a book off this Amazon list (books will ship directly to JulieConway’s house). https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/dl/invite/2NUXSdf

A great list of books to look for while shopping at used bookstores is in the works, too!

Prayers for Mexico:

Page 8: SCUCC iConnect · Mark your calendars for Sunday, January 13th for the SCUCC OASIS Fair after church. This is an opportunity for you to learn more about the committees and activities

Help us to challenge stereotypes and gender roles in our own communities and walkwith those who need a little nudge to make changes. Guide our hands and our words sothat we can make this world a better place for the girls of today and the generations oftomorrow.

We ask that you continue to guide our feet in the walk towards equality and justice, and that you open the hearts of the people who do not yet understand the plight ofyoung girls around the world.

Dearest God, we thank you for wisdom and for the courage you have given us.

Amen.
