INT. JD’S APARTMENT

JD is playfully shaking a small stuff animal in front of his infant son, SAM

JDHere’s Mr. Binky Winky. Roar!

JD (VO)Sometimes as a new parent you can feel conflicted. Like I would like nothing more to stay home all day andplay with my son Sam. But as a fatherknow I have to work to provide for mykid.

JD looks at his watch

JDAlright Sam I hope your mothergets here soon because I am late for work.

JD’s cell-phone rings

JDSorry Sam Mr. Binky Winky has aphone call.

JD answers his phone

JDHello?

INT. KIM BRIGGS’ OFFICE

KIM is seating at her desk talking on the phone.

KIMHey, JD…um…something came up at work so I wont be able to pick up same until this evening.


JD looks at his watch while he talks on the phone

JDOh…oh ok.


Kim talking on the phone

JD looks at his watch and then over at his son

JDNo, that’s great. Give me moretime to do some male bounding with Sam.

JD hangs up his cell phone and looks over at Sam.

INT. SACRED HEART HOSPITAL-HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS

JD walks in carrying his infant son Sam, in a front pack

Sam is wearing baby size doctor’s mask over his face

JD looks down at Sam

JDWell Sam this is where daddy works. Now I want you to actright because daddy is a reallyrespected man around here.

JD’s head gets smacked back by the JANITOR

JANITORHey what’s that?

The Janitor points down at the baby

JANITORThat? That weird small humanoid monkey like thing.

JD takes a step to walk away but the Janitor blocks him with his mop

The Janitor points to himself

JD quickly walks away

INT. HALLWAY NURSES’ STATION

TURK is talking CARLA who is working the nurses’ station

Elliot walks into the room of MRS. JOCO a middle-aged Filipina woman, her hand is shaking. Standing next Mrs. Joco is her 14-year-old son, THOM

INT. SACRED HEART HOSPITAL-INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

DR. COX is standing in front of the interns, BOON and JOSEPHINE

JD walks in with his son

JDSorry I’m late I needed to find a sitter for same…

DR. COXAnd it looks like you took the job. But before you go and poppopcorn and call your boyfriend to come over to make out on thecouch after you send the brats to bed early, I need you…

INT. LIVING ROOM (DREAM)

Dr. Cox takes a few puffs from his pipe and gets up from his chair and walks over to JD

JD looks up as Dr. Cox puts his hand on his shoulder

DR. COXJD I have to tell you…you’re like a son to me.

JD jumps with a large smile upon his face

With a big grin Dr. Cox gives a nod

DR. COXYes…

Dr. Cox hands JD a golden stethoscope

JDI would be proud to.

JD gives Dr. Cox a big huge


Dr. Cox lets out a loud whistle

startled JD’s body jumps up

DR. COXEarth to Keshia, since you returned from your trip to slumberland you might want to perk up your ears and take a gander to what I was about to say. We are all on stand by because this morning we got a call about a school bus crashand they are sending the victims to Sacred Heart.

JDThat’s horrible. Do you know if there where a lot of kids injured?

DR. COX

We don’t know yet but I guess we’ll find out any minute now.

JD walks over to the interns Josephine and Boon

JDHi guys.

BOONUm…hi Doctor Dorian.

JOSEPHINEYou heard about the school busdoctor Dorian? I hope no little kids where hurt

Josephine pauses

JOSEPHINEOn the other hand I hope we getsome cool injuries to work on.

BOONYeah.

JD (VO)It’s interesting how being a parent can change your views onthings. For example seven years ago I would just be as excited if I heard news like this. Not because I was cruelbut as a medical intern you can’t help but be excited at the chance to interesting new cases.


JDBut as parent you can’t but tothink how you feel if that was your kid.

ACT II


Elementary school children run into the entrance of the Sacred Heart

LLOYD, the Delivery Guy/Ambulance Driver pushes a knockedout BUSDRIVER in a wheelchair

Lloyd pushes the busdriver toward JD, Dr. Cox and Turk whom stand amoung the hyperactive children running around them

DR. COXI take it that these are the victims of the school bus crash.

LLOYDYep.

JDHey Lloyd I thought you where aDelivor guy.

LLOYDYeah but I’m now driving an ambulance to make ends meet inthese tough economic times. I mean the price of shrooms aren’t getting cheaper.

Lloyd reaches under the wheelchair and pulled out some packages and a clipboard

LLOYDSpeaking of delivery, I need someone to sign for these

JD signs his name of the clipboard

Lloyd is about to had JD the packages but stops when he notices the baby in the frontpack so he hands them to Turk

DR. KELSO walks by and looks at all the kids running around

DR. KELSOLook I know everyone his a bit Glade that this accident was aswe originally heard but giving that this a hosiptial and not anursery school I suggest thatyou attend to are paying patents. That is unless you want to spend the rest of yourday doing nothing but finger painting…

JD raises hand

Dr. Cox quickly gets into JD’s face

DR. COXFirst of all don’t call myJennifer Dillon, little JD and Second no it wont be cool if are kids are best buds, infact it wont happen because if I get even the hint my kid is going to the same school district as yours I’d have her pulled.

Dr. Cox pushes the passed out Busdriver away

INT. ELEMENTRY SCHOOL-KINDERGARDEN CLASS (DREAM)

A 5-year old Sam (who looks like a blond JD) standing next to a 5-year old Izzy (who looks like Turk but with hair like Carla’s) and 5-year old Jennifer Dillion (who looks like JORDAN)

INT. PATIENT’S ROOM

Elliot walks into the room of Mrs. Joco

Mrs. Joco is lying in bed with Thom sitting next to her

ELLIOTHello Mrs. Joco, I just went over your test results and I amsorry to say that it looks like your last doctor was correct. You do have type three Gaucher’s.

Sadden Thom get’s up and walks out of the room

ELLIOTUm I understand that the treatis rather expensive but I am sure ther is a way we can work something out, Um…I’ll…I’ll beright back.

INT. INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

Josephine and Boon are examing the passed out bus driver

Dr. Cox is learning over them

DR. COXAlright I’ll give a cookie to the person who can correctly give me the reason why sleepy beauty here is in the state he is in and indangered the lives of a bunch of little kids.

BOONUh he bumbed his head?

Dr. Cox places his hand to the back of his head and sighs

BOONEr…it would explain the bump on his head.

DR. COXOf course giving that he passed out and crashed the bus I am sure he had plenty of time to get bumps and scratches. No I you to do some test and see if there are any drugs or alchol inhis system.

Dr. Cox turns around to walk away but out of no where Dr. Kelso pops up

DR. KELSOListen Perry Mr Coboltsac is here for is annual drainage. I don’t have to tell what a bigdonner Mr. Coboltsac is to thehospital. But if you didn’t know Mr. Coboltsac hates children and today we seem to an aboundence of demonic little brats that are turning Sacred Heart apocalyptic playground jungle. And so I’m going to need to watch those brats.

DR. COXI’m sorry Bob-O, but in case you haven’t realized in your old age that I’m a doctor andnot some 16 year old babysitter.

DR. KELSOFrankly, I could give a hell of beans what you think your job is, I write the checks and if you want to see one with your name on it you’ll do as I say.

Dr. Cox looks at Dr. Kelso in frustration, he wants to say something but can’t spit out the words so he stroms away

INT. PATIENT’S ROOM

JD and Turk are talking to SKATER GIRL’S MOM and SKATER GIRL’S DAD

JD walks into the hospital admissions

Children are running everywhere

A burning man pushing an IV runs past JD as a child with a blowtorch chases after him

Dr. Cox pops up in front of JD

Elliot and Thom are standing out side of Mrs. Joco’s room

JD (VO)Sometimes we as parents get disappointed when are children don’t live up to what we have in mind for them.

JD closes his door by leaning back against

JD walks over to his couch and picks up a baby toy, looks at it and then slumps down on the couch
