FATHERS DAY
FADE IN
1 INT. HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY 1
We are clearly in an upper class, beautiful house with
lots of interesting things, the camera pans across a
shotgun, across a photo of a treehouse, across WWII medals
and other various bits and pieces establishing a family
house. Then we SLOW DISSOLVE TO:
2 INT. HALLWAY - FRONT DOOR - SAME TIME 2
The camera slowly tracks forward toward the large wooden
door - closer - closer - closer until - WHAM
MARTIN enters, he’s sweating having ran from something,
his point of view reveals an escape route.. He dashes up
the stairs..
3 INT. UPSTAIRS - AS BEFORE 3
He checks every room for a hiding place, no where in room
1, no where in room 2 - he panics - then he hears a car
drive up, stop and a car door opens and closes - PANIC!
MARTIN dashes for...
4 INT. MARTIN’S BEDROOM - AS BEFORE 4
MARTIN bursts into his room, shuts the door and finds his
childhood hiding place - under the bed he squeezes into
the tight space..
JUMP CUT TO:
MARTIN as a young child hiding under his bed - terrified!
JUMP CUT BACK TO:
MARTIN hearing the front door SLAM.
GEORGE
YOU LITTLE BASTARD! WHERE ARE
YOU?
MARTIN holds his breath
JUMP CUT TO:
MARTIN as a young boy holding his breath.

5 INT. STAIRS - AS BEFORE 5
We see GEORGE clump up the stairs in brown adult shoes.
6 INT. MARTIN’S BEDROOM - AS BEFORE 6
MARTIN (as a man) sweats and holds his breath, we see
MARTIN’s point of view - just the bottom of the door -
he’s waiting for the father to..
JUMP CUT TO:
DOOR slides open from MARTIN’S point of view - we see
black slippers enter - and start to look around. THEN of
course the obvious - the slippers stop moving - the father
is aware he’s under the bed, next thing - KNEES - then a
hand reaches in a violently pulls out ...
JUMP CUT TO:
MARTIN (as a man) being yanked out from under the bed.
TERRIFIED looks as the camera cuts from one to another.
Then GEORGE gets so angry he shouts
GEORGE
DON’T MOVE!
JUMP CUT BACK TO:
Young MARTIN not even able to move as the father leaves.
Moments later he returns.
JUMP CUT BACK TO:
Present..
GEORGE
You’re never gonna change are
you!
GEORGE raises a shot gun right to camera and.....
JUMP CUT TO:
7 EXT. OUTSIDE - YEARS BEFORE 7
Establishing shot of a tree. We see two children, YOUNGER
MARTIN and his friend BILLY playing with twigs in the
tree.
CUT TO:

8 INT. HOUSE - KITCHEN - SAME TIME 8
Younger GEORGE is in the kitchen washing the
dishes/cutlery whilst looking outside to see the lads
playing in the treehouse.
CUT TO:
9 EXT. OUTSIDE - AS BEFORE 9
The two boys are playing in the tree and pushing one
another jokingly.
CUT TO:
10 INT. HOUSE - KITCHEN - AS BEFORE 10
GEORGE is still looking out of the kitchen window at the
boys but with more concern. We then hear a scream...
GEORGE runs outside
11 EXT. OUTSIDE - AS BEFORE 11
MARTIN is still on the tree... He has accidentally pushed
BILLY off the tree.
Shot of BILLY on the floor bleeding... he has BROKEN his
arm
GEORGE looking at his son with disgust.
GEORGE
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
GEORGE realises that MARTIN has pushed his friend off the
tree.
GEORGE
What have you done?
MARTIN
I didn’t mean too Dad... It was a
accident
GEORGE
Son...
GEORGE starts to shake the tree...
CUT TO BLACK
WE HERE A SCREAM AND THEN A THUD

12 INT. HOUSE - MARTIN BEDROOM - PRESENT DAY 12
Back in the present day. GEORGE still has the shotgun
RAISED on MARTIN’S face. POINT OF VIEW of Martin
MARTIN
Dad, please don’t do this. It
wasn’t my fault i swear. I didm’t
mean to kill her.
GEORGE
You knew what the consequences
were before you took this job.
You’ve now got a death sentence
on your wish. We’re both in
trouble because of you... And now
I’ve got to deal with it.
MARTIN looks into GEORGE’S eyes.
CLOSE UP on Martin’s eye’s...
BLACK OUT
