Scout’s Quick Start Guide
1. Within Digital Cookie, click the Site Setup tab to display the Site
Setup page.
2. Click in the My goal is to sell field and enter the number of packages you and your parent or troop leader have agreed on for your cookie goal this year.
3. Click in the Packages via offline sales field and enter the number of packages you have sold cookies in person.
Offline sales are the packages of cookies you sell in person.
The packages via Online Cookie sales field is automatically populated by Digital Cookie.

TIP: Work with your troop
leader and/or parent to
determine your cookie goal
that you will sell in person.
The goal you set here
includes sales through Digital
Cookie as well as what you
will sell in person.

you hit your in person cookie

4. Click the Update My Sale Progress button. The total packages sold number is automatically calculated.
5. On the right side of the page, review your awesome My Cookie Sale Progress chart.
Your goal displays below the chart.
Offline cookie sales entered will display as a dark‐orange bar on the chart. Online sales display as a light‐orange bar.
The total number of packages left to sell to reach your cookie goal is shown in large green text.

Write My Cookie Earnings Statement 6. On the Site Setup tab, scroll down to My Cookie Earnings.
7. Click in the text box and enter your cookie earnings statement to
let customers know what you and your troop plan to do with your cookie money. This will help inspire customers to support your cookie goals!

8. To write a learning statement, click in the My Cookie Learnings textbox and tell customers all the cool stuff you’re learning by selling cookies.
9. At the bottom of the Site Setup page, you can change the following:
Video content
Photo content

statement fields have a limit
of 500 characters. As you
type your goals and learning
statements, the number of
characters left automatically
displays under the text box.
HINT: Read over your
statement after you have
completed it to make sure
that you catch any typos.
HINT: For the learning
statement, share what you
feel you will learn during the
cookie‐selling process.

10. To make changes to the video and photo content, please refer to the “How Do I Add Media to Digital Cookie” Quick Start Guide or the “How Do I Add Media to Digital Cookie” online tutorial that is located within the Help section of Digital Cookie.
Preview Your Site As you build your Digital Cookie site, what you see onscreen is slightly different than what the final version will look like. After you have set your cookie goals, written a My Cookie Earnings statement, created a My Cookie Learnings statement, and added a video or photo to your site, you are ready to preview it.
11. Click the Save Draft/Preview Page button to preview your site.
This action does not make your site available for anyone to see other than you.
Take your time previewing the site and note any changes you
would like to make.
12. Want to make changes to your site? Sure. It’s easy! Just click the Edit button at the top of the window.

Previewing it lets you see it
exactly as a customer
would.
HINT: Notice the differences
between the preview and the
way the site looks as you are
editing it.

Submit Your Site for Approval When you are happy with the way your Digital cookie site looks in the preview, it is time to ask a parent to take a look. Your parent must approve the site before anyone else can see it.
13. At the top of the preview page, click the Submit for Approval
button. This action notifies your parent that you are ready for him or her to review your Digital Cookie site.
14. To see if your site has been approved, click the Home tab. When your cookie customer page is approved, it will be listed as Open for Business.
