NNEEWW PPCC BBOOAARRDD && SSEENNSSOORRSSKKIITT FFOORR VVEERRYY SSOOFFTT WWAATTEERR A new PC Board & Sensors Kit, for the New/Current MV Series machines, is nowavailable as service part under Part Nbr CM 81453901.

This new PC Board & Sensors Kit, that works in the same way of the current standardone, allows the correct operation of the MV Series even when water is very soft and/orde-mineralized, like the one coming from the Reverse Osmosis water treatment system.

The major components of the new PC Board & Sensors Kit are:

PC Board P/N CM 33580171Water level sensor CM 81453860Ice thickness sensor CM 81453782Ice thickness sensor bracket CM 25725527

Some of these PC Board & Sensors Kits have been installed on some MV units alreadyinstalled in the field for test.

The new PC Board is equipped with a DIP Switches for the proper setting of the unit asdetailed here below:

Starting from MFE 61 s.n. 04879 the previous compressor current relay P/N 620428 00(9-15 amps) has been changed with a new smaller one (6-10 amps) as the former onewas oversized for the current drown by the MFE 61 compressor.

The new Compressor Current Relay is the same of the one used on MC 1210 and it'savailable under P/N 620428 02.

On MFE 61 it is set up to the minimum setting i.e. 6 amps as shown on photo below

To allow the installation of the new Membrane Switch Dispensing Panel on the oldmachines, a retrofit kit is available under Part Nbr 060613 00 and it is supplied alreadypre-assembled as shown on the photo below.

The new Membrane Switch is studied to support up to 1 million pushes to each of thefour Switches.

Once we will run out of stock of the former Dispensing Board, we will automaticallysupply the new retrofit kit.

Starting from the following serial nbrs:

MAR 55 S. N. 01755MAR 75 01247MAR 105 02709MAR 125 01257

the control box has been changed in most of the electric components as well as in itswiring connections.

Moreover, in addition to the electrical components used till now, there are two timedelay relais to:

a Delay the start up of compressor by 18' at every start up of machineb Delay the stop of the drum by 18' at every stop of the machine

as well as a 3-phase monitoring relay on the power in a drum rotation electronic controlboard (it operates using the Hall effect sensor/principle as done on our Flakermachines).

In case the drum is not rotating at all (or it rotates too slow - lees then 1/4 turn every30"), the new electronic control board trips off the entire machine so to avoid that, incase of breakage of the fiber keys, the drive motor/gear reducer and compressor canoperate with the drum off.

Attached you can find a short presentation of the operation of components of the newcontrol box as well as the new wiring diagram.

Starting from November 2005, all the MAR Split as well as the MAR 205-305 will beequipped with this new control box.

The spare list of the MAR 55-75-105-125 control box in Internet will be soon modifiedaccordingly.

Compared with former Dorin compressor, the new Bitzer Model 4DC-5.2Y is muchmore quiet/silent and less vibrating with the vantage of much less vibrations transmittedto the unit frame as well as to the refrigerant system.

The new compressor can be installed in place of former one with some modifications onthe refrigerant system.

The same compressor will be shortly installed also on MAR 205.

With testing cable plugged IN and all LEDs blinking together, PUSH Reset Button for a while then followingphases automatically take place:

Water dumping• 1ST GREEN LED (POWER) ON steady and 2ND GREEN LED (OPERATION) blink• Water pump ON• Drain valve ON

Water filling• 3RD YELLOW LED (BIN FULL) ON steady• Water inlet valve ON• Water pump OFF (ON after 20")• Compressor ON

Freezing Cycle• Both 2ND GREEN LED (OPERATION) and 3RD YELLOW LED (BIN FULL) ON steady (1ST LED -

POWER - blinks when circuit is shorted between the two metal plates of the Ice Thickness Sensor)• Water pump ON• Compressor ON

In case during one of the above listed phases any trouble occurred due to wrong operation and/orsensors/switches trouble, the machine stops with glowing of the LED's as per here below chart:

Once 4 full testing cycles are completed without report any failure, all LEDs glow together with machine OFF.
