Final Qualification

Stage StageAt least

one D?

Final Qualification: find the

intersection of the total

"Destroys" and total "Yes" in the

table. Example: If the "Destroys"

= 35 and "Yes" = 1, the final

qualification is MM.

Head Shot: mark with an "D" if there is at least one round in the FD (head) region as illustrated below.

Slow Fire and Controlled Pairs: mark with an "D" if there is at least one round in the Face Destroyed (head) zone OR at least one round in the D (chest) zone as illustrated below.

Failure to Stop & Failure to Stop/Moving: marked with an "D" if there is one round in the FD (head) zone AND two rounds in the D (chest) zone as illustrated below.

Box: mark with an "D" if BOTH targets have one round in the FD (head) zone AND two rounds in the D (chest) zone of the target as illustrated below.

Drill Instructions: For each stage, place an "D" in the box if shooter passed the drill, or "M" for miss if the drill was not successful.

Movers: mark with an "D" if there is at least one round anywhere on the target as illustrated below.

Destroy Instructions: For each stage, place a "D", "N", "S", or "M" in the box to indicate the greatest effect on the target ( moving targets will only be scored only as "D" or "M").

Questions?

Marking on Holds Day

• On holds day only, shooters are afforded the opportunity to see where there highest shot value lands on the target.

• This allows shooters to accurately make an adjustment for their holds.

• The pits will run up an orange scoring disc in the corresponding areas of the target for the highest shot value:

• Destroyed: Bottom Left

• Neutralized: Bottom Right

• Suppressed: Top Right

• Miss: Top Left

Scoring on Holds Day

• On holds day only, shooters are afforded the opportunity to see where there highest shot value lands on the target.

• This allows shooters to accurately make an adjustment off of their holds.

• The pits will run up an orange scoring disc in the corresponding areas of the target for the highest shot value:

• Destroyed: Bottom Left

• Neutralized: Bottom Right

• Suppressed: Top Right

• Miss: Top Left

MARKING A SUPPRESSED

Questions?

Scoring

• Total Destroy target presentations = 50

• Total Drill target presentations = 10

• Total Drill types = 3

• Only impacts in the destroy zones are counted as a kill. All other impacts are considered misses.

• Destroy targets require 1 hit per presentation in either face or chest destroy zones.

• Drills are pass/fail and must be executed properly i.e. a Failure to Stop drill must have 2 hits in the chest destroy zone and 1 hit in the face destroy zone.

12

ScoringDestroys

• There are 50 target exposures. In order to achieve a destroy a shooter must have at least one of their rounds from that iteration in either destroy zone.

• 500 yd sustained fire and 300-100yd line controlled pairs: Are scored as destroy or miss.

• Movers - 100 & 200 yard lines: Will be scored as destroy or miss, the scoring zone is the entire target. The target is the same reduced size silhouette as table 2.

• Head Shot – 25 yard line: Only rounds in the Face-Destroy zone will count as a destroy.

• The highest shot value is what's used to score the target. For Example: One round in the Suppressed zone and one round in the Destroy zone equals a destroy because the highest value is a destroy. 13

ScoringDrills

• There are a total of 10 drill presentations. This does not add to the total score. Drills are graded as pass or fail. In order to pass a drill a shooter must have all of their rounds in the correct Destroy zones.

• Drills passed are scored as a Destroy

• There are three different types of drills:

• Failure to stop (FTS): Two rounds to the “D”, one round in the “FD”

• Box Drill (Box): Two rounds to left tgt “D”, two to right tgt “D”, one round in right tgt “FD”, and one round in left tgt “FD”.

• Failure-to- Stop-While-Moving (FTSM): A FTS while closing with the target from 25-15 yd.

• If any one round is outside the appropriate zone the drill is scored as a miss. Example: on a failure to stop drill if two rounds are in the chest Destroy zone and the headshot is not in the Face-Destroy zone the drill will be scored as a Miss.

14

Scoring

• During the Destroys course of fire (500-100) there will be no scoring from the line, all scoring will be conducted by the pit-pullers.

• If the range utilizes fixed target stands outside of the pits in order to conduct the Drills course of fire, after the 100 yard line, the scorecards will be passed up to the line where the coaches will then score the targets for the remainder of the Destroys and all of the Drills course of fire.

• If the range is able to conduct the Drills course of fire utilizing the target carriages in the pits, then the scorecards will remain in the pits.

Scoring

Threat Halo Target• The Threat Halo Target features 5 scoring

zones.• Destroy “D”• Face Destroy “FD”• Neutralize “N”• Suppress “S”/Face Suppress “FS”

Scoring

Mover Target• The Mover Target has 1 scoring zone.

• Table 2 style Echo Silhouette cut to 12” across

• At least one hit anywhere on target is a Destroy

• No hits on target equal a Miss

Questions?

Scoring

• To qualify on ARQ you must properly complete at least 1 out of 10 drills.• The drills you will conduct are..

1. Failure to Stop• 2 rounds to the chest and 1 to the head

2. Box Drill• 2 rounds to the chest and 1 to the head on two separate targets

3. Failure to stop while moving

*There are no Pelvic shots in ARQ*

Scoring

• If a shooter drops even one round outside of either the “D” or “FD” zones, that entire drill will be scored as a Miss “M”.

• Sharpshooter - A shooter that can achieve lethal effects on a threat under most circumstances, at most distances, from most positions.

•Marksman - A shooter who can achieve lethal effects on a threat under some circumstances at some distances from some positions. 25

Qualification Classifications

•Scores will need to be converted until MCTIMS is updated with the ability to select either ARQ or ART.

•The conversion will be based on the amount of destroys and passed drills that was achieved.

•The conversion will display the table 1, table 2 and aggregate score in an ART format. It will also display the marksmanship badge achieved.

•Expert–A shooter must achieve 43 –50 destroys as well as pass at least 1 iteration of eachtype of drill.

•Sharpshooter–A shooter must achieve 31 –42 destroys and pass at least 2 iterations of any two drill types.

•Marksman–A shooter must achieve 15 –30 destroys as well as pass at least 1 iteration of anydrill type.
