1.0 SCOPE OF CIVIL AND STRUCTURAL WORK 1.1 GENERAL 1.1.1 This document specifies the scope of work and minimum requirements for constructions of steel and concrete works and any coordination works required for local authority submission for SYNTHESE (MALAYSIA) Sdn Bhd. The CONTRACTOR is responsible for all the structures scope indicated in drawing proposed key plan, drawing no: 1340 001 to 1340 007. 1.1.2 The CONTRACTOR shall verify all the drawings and scope of works. Any discrepancy and changes made at site shall notify to ENGINEER immediately. 1.1.3 CONTRACTOR is required to carry out all engineering constructions and any coordination work required for local authority for civil and structures work as stated below but not to be limited to: i. Structures Work including: Construction of new truss frame Extension of steel columns Demolition of existing frame column, rafter, end wall columns & canopy ii. Others Temporary support/ formwork Welding works 1.1.4 CONTRACTOR is required to supply all required manpower, materials, tools, equipment, scaffolding and other items necessary for the construction and the completion of the structure works 1.1.5 On-going construction work must be carefully planned by the CONTRACTOR and approved by OWNER’s OPERATION and SAFETY so as to avoid any possibility of accidents. Personnel performing work in the areas of commissioned equipment must be fully aware of the potential hazard and shall be indoctrinated as to the proper procedures to be followed in performing work in or near hazardous areas. In addition, all personnel shall be instructed as to the procedures to be followed in the event of an accident.

1.0 SCOPE OF CIVIL AND STRUCTURAL WORK1.1General

1.1.1This document specifies the scope of work and minimum requirements for constructions of steel and concrete works and any coordination works required for local authority submission for SYNTHESE (MALAYSIA) Sdn Bhd. The CONTRACTOR is responsible for all the structures scope indicated in drawing proposed key plan, drawing no: 1340 001 to 1340 007.

1.1.2The CONTRACTOR shall verify all the drawings and scope of works. Any discrepancy and changes made at site shall notify to ENGINEER immediately.

1.1.3CONTRACTOR is required to carry out all engineering constructions and any coordination work required for local authority for civil and structures work as stated below but not to be limited to:

i. Structures Work including: Construction of new truss frame Extension of steel columns Demolition of existing frame column, rafter, end wall columns & canopyii. Others Temporary support/ formwork Welding works

1.1.4 CONTRACTOR is required to supply all required manpower, materials, tools, equipment, scaffolding and other items necessary for the construction and the completion of the structure works

1.1.5 On-going construction work must be carefully planned by the CONTRACTOR and approved by OWNERs OPERATION and SAFETY so as to avoid any possibility of accidents. Personnel performing work in the areas of commissioned equipment must be fully aware of the potential hazard and shall be indoctrinated as to the proper procedures to be followed in performing work in or near hazardous areas. In addition, all personnel shall be instructed as to the procedures to be followed in the event of an accident.

1.1.6 The CONTRACTOR shall protect existing facilities, structures, and utilities line from all damages.

1.1.7 Standby portable fire extinguishers must be in place around the construction electrical source and hot work activities at all time with supervision of fire watch team.

1.2Description of Works 1.2.1 Structure STEEL WORKS

i. The CONTRACTOR shall carry out the construction of the structural steel works as per drawing no: 1340 001 to 1340 007. Any discrepancy and changes made at site shall notify to Engineer immediately. ii. Unless otherwise specified, new roofing system will be constructed of new mono-pitched steel truss frame with new extended columns on top. Member of roof purlins, sag rod and wind bracing can be reused if the members are still in acceptable good condition. iii. All steel members shall be protected with approved painting system as per description in material specification.iv. All staircases shall be constructed with steel frames and chequer plate. Landing staircase shall be of chequer plate supported with steel frames with added 50mm lean reinforced lean concrete. v. Steel platform with chequer plate flooring shall be provided at the tanks for access of maintenance services. vi. All steel to steel connection shall be provided with High tensile bolts, Grade 8.8 with correct bolt tensioning method. The steel column base connection consists of 4 numbers of anchor bolts as per drawing detail. vii. All welding work shall be carried out by licensed welder at site.viii. New concrete footing shall be constructed at columns base especially for the footing of both end of new frame columns and end wall columns location. ix. The scope for the structure steel works shall consist of the following works but not to be limited to: a. All setting out, leveling and construction work for steel frames b. Holding down bolts for new steel column and all steel connectionsc. All welding works at sited. All steel work (work shall include supplying of materials, labour, tool, equipment etc. to carry out cuffing, drilling, grinding, welding, hoisting to the required levels, bolting, machining, assembly etc. associated work.) e. Construction of Steel staircasef. Construction of steel platform at tanksg. Handrail for staircases and platformsh. All steel Painting work as per material specification i. Installation of new translucent sheet, roof and wall cladding j. Water proofing/ sealant if required for damaged claddingk. All temporary support and formwork l. Temporary facilities if required

1.2.2 DEMOLITION & EXTENSION WORKS

The CONTRACTOR shall carry out the demolition works and extension work of columns as per layout drawing. The scope of works will include the following items:-a. Demolish of a few existing columns, roof rafters, end wall column and canopy which maybe blocking the proposed new tank locations as per drawing layout. b. To provide temporary supports/ scaffoldings for the structures c.To uninstall & reinstall all translucent sheets, roof claddings, roof purlins with sag rod, and wind bracing for the construction of new truss frame.d.To uninstall & reinstall wall cladding at the affected area if required for the construction of extension columns. e.All damaged materials, e.g. roof steel members, translucent sheet, roof and wall cladding cannot be used. However, minor repair for wall cladding can be touched up by approved water proofing sealantf.All vertical frame members with wall cladding shall be extended with new materials at site to cater for the required structure height. g. Removal of debris and unwanted materials from site and not to allowed them to accumulate at site h. Leave the site clean for after the demolition work i. Reinstall the wall

1.2.3 STRUCTURE CONCRETE WORKS i. CONTRACTOR shall carry out the construction of the Reinforced concrete for landing staircase and column bases concrete footing.

ii. CONTRACTOR shall refer to material specification or drawing for the concrete grade, concrete cover and wiremesh or steel bars requirement.

iii. All concrete must be properly vibrated with approved mechanical vibrator.

iv. The scope for the reinforced concrete slab shall consist of the following work but not to be limited to: a. All setting out and leveling work for staircase landing slab b. Placement of wiremesh or steel barsc. Temporary formworkd. Concrete work at site with well vibrated and compacted

1.4.4 The CONTRACTOR shall be solely responsible for the design of formwork and propping. The removal of formwork is required minimum of 4 days.

1.2.4 TEMPORARY FACILITIES

CONTRACTOR shall provide as minimum the following temporary facilities:

a.Silt Trap CONTRACTOR shall design and construct a simple silt trap to facilitate the site if required.b.Security

CONTRACTOR is responsible for the security of the site for the duration of the WORK.

CONTRACTOR shall use his best endeavors to ensure that no unauthorized person is permitted to enter or remain on the site.

c.Temporary Traffic Signs

CONTRACTOR shall at all-time take full and sufficient precautions and shall be responsible to ensure the safety of all traffic passageways, though, around and diverted by the WORK.

To ensure compliance with this requirement, temporary signage shall be erected on all approaches to the WORK subjected to OWNERs approval.

d.Project Signboard

CONTRACTOR shall provide and maintain at a location to be agreed with OWNER, a signboard for display. The signboard approved by OWNER shall be complete with all supports, fixing, bracing, strutting, foundation, painting, etc.

i.Fencing

CONTRACTOR shall provide a temporary fencing around the temporary facilities area, and materials lay-down area.

j.Washbasin for Trucks

CONTRACTOR shall construct trucks washbasin and ensure the trucks leaving the site in reasonable clean condition. CONTRACTOR shall be responsible to immediately settle any fines from local authority arising from dirty trucks soiled the road.

1.2.5 INTERFACING SCOPE OF WORK WITH OTHERS

CONTRACTOR shall coordinate well with other SUB-CONTRACTOR if any in constructing all structures work at the interfacing area to ensure the uniformity of construction.
