Scope and Sequence

Scarborough College’s B.A. in Christian Studies  (BACS) combines theological education with the history of Western thought in order to develop intellectual and spiritual maturity in every graduate. The degree prepares students to serve God and others in whatever chosen vocation, including Christian ministries, through worldview development and biblical studies. The BACS degree also prepares students to complete graduate degrees at Southwestern Seminary (MDiv, Adv. Standing; Adv. MDiv, MACE) with an 18-credit hour reduction.

Student Learning Outcomes:

1. Students will demonstrate knowledge in the humanities.

2. Students will demonstrate knowledge in science.

3. Students will demonstrate knowledge in social science.

4. Students will demonstrate understanding of the biblical Christian worldview and be able to engage non-Christian worldviews.

5. Students will demonstrate critical thinking by analyzing and evaluating the arguments and evidence encountered in scholarship in Christian Studies.

6. Students will demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively about the ideas and material in Christian Studies.
