Welcome AddressUnder the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) will host the 4th Medical Career Day 2010. This is in line with the government’s interest in further development of the medical field in terms of education, training, and practice, in addition to the future of students in health professions within the Kingdom. The Ministry of Higher Education, under the leadership of Dr. Khalid Al Angari, focus their priorities in strategic planning and assist in developing skills through training programs and local and international specialized scientific workshops in order to become highly-qualified advanced health care institutions. Having activities, such as Career Day, aim to build cognitive abilities of graduate students and to enlighten and direct them to the specialization that best suits their inclinations, interests, and abilities, enabling them to excel in their fields of specialization. An important goal is to provide the tools which will enhance performance and provide sound vision when planning for their future, which will be beneficial for the service of their society and country. Graduates will be familiarized with healthcare and medical institu-tions within the government and private sectors and exposed to scientific and technical activities and training facilities at these institutions, nationally and internationally, ultimately solidifying their knowledge in the specialization of choice. Career Day is an innovative idea and part of a long term strategic plan adopted by universities to enable medical institutions in government and private sectors to select suitable candidates by becoming aquainted with students and their specializations. This collaboration will bolster the relationships between institutions and universities and pave the way for establishing cooperative and collaborative partnerships.
