SCIENCE
OUR TEAM
We have a well-resourced department with extremely capable and dedicated staff; Ms Sue Wood, Miss Karen Sime, Mrs Cherry Walton, Mrs Iresha Dona, Ms Jennie Barrett and two technicians Mrs Gaylene McKenzie-Parker and Mrs Cathrine Maiorana. Science is not just for those who are going on to science careers and need science, mathematics, chemistry, biology or physics. Science is needed by everyone if they are to understand the world around them and the issues facing the world e.g. global warming, quality water shortages, sanitation, fluoridation of water etc.
Our science department work to encourage a lifelong awareness of science and how it relates to the individual and the wider community by focusing on the contextual approach using everyday examples.
