Scoring Rubric

To earn full credit (2 points), a student places

the Oyster in the left box, the Mud Crab in the middle box, and the Blue Heron in the right box (2 points) OR

the Flower in the left box, the Butterfly in the middle box, and the Purple Martin in the right box (2 points)

To earn partial credit (1 point), a student places

the Oyster in the left or middle box and the Mud Crab in the box to the right of the Oyster (1 point) OR

the Mud Crab in the left or middle box and the Blue Heron in the box to the right of the Mud Crab (1 point) OR

the Flower in the left or middle box and the Butterfly in the box to the right of the Flower (1 point) OR

the Butterfly in the left or middle box and the Purple Martin in the box to the right of the Butterfly (1 point).

Grade 8

Scoring Rubric

To earn full credit (3 points), a student places

the plants and/or the trees in the Producer column (1 point)

AND

the mice and/or the owls in the Consumer column (1 point)

AND

the bacteria in the Decomposer column (1 point).

NOTE: Full credit (3 points) requires all three organisms to be placed in appropriate columns.

To earn partial credit, a student answers one or two parts correctly.

Grade 10 Summative and EOC Biology

Scoring Rubric

To earn full credit (3 points), a student places

the “ribosome” label in the purple box (1 point)

AND

the “DNA” label in the red box (1 point)

AND

the “transcription” label in the green box (1 point).

Full credit (3 points) requires all three terms to be placed in the correct three boxes.

To earn partial credit, a student answers one or two parts correctly.
