How color affects the senses
Purpose:To determine how color affects how something looks, feels, smells, and tastes.
Hypothesis:If each lipgloss has a different color, then they will look, feel, smell, and taste different.
Procedure:1. Make a big batch of lipgloss by melting the ingredients together2. Pour the lipgloss into four different containers labeled A ,B, C, and D 3. Put 2 drops of (different) food coloring into three of the four containers making each one homogeneous4. Let lipgloss cool and make sure that each one looks similar besides color5. Ask at least ten people to sample the gloss and rate it on a scale of one to ten in four categories- look,
smell, feel, and taste. Record the data.
Materials:ingredients for vanilla lipgloss
3 fluid oz. of coconut oil 2 fluid oz. of petroleum jelly 0.5 fluid oz. of aloe Vera gel 0.25 fluid oz of vanilla
four clean containers with lids popsicle sticks (for sampling) three different colors of food coloring (green, pink, purple) heat source (like a microwave or stove) for melting ingredients
Conclusions:We learned that the color of the lipgloss
