#2

• Which of the following densities is the least?• A) 0.95 g/cm3 • B) 2.25 g/cm3 • C) 1.03 g/cm3 • D) 0.56 g/cm3 • E) 1.26 g/cm3

#3

• Which of the following materials will float in water?

• A) 0.95 g/cm3 • B) 2.25 g/cm3 • C) 1.03 g/cm3 • D) 0.56 g/cm3 • E) 1.26 g/cm3

#4

What happens to molecules as they are heated?

#10• A ninth grade class tried to find out if adding salt to water would

change the temperature at which the water boiled (its boiling point). • They created the following hypothesis: If you decrease the amount of

salt added to water, then the boiling point will decrease. • The students took five beakers, placed 200 mL of water in each and

labeled them A, B, C, D, and E. Next, they dissolved 4 gram of salt in beaker A, 3 grams in beaker B, 2 grams in beaker C, & 1 gram in beaker D. No salt was added to beaker E. Each beaker was placed over a flame and the temperature at which the water boiled was recorded.

• Your task: CREATE A DATA TABLE AND A GRAPH TO REPRESENT THESE RESULTS:

• A: 101°C B: 102°C C: 103°C D: 104°C E: 100°C

#11

• Answer the following questions using your data table, graph, and the previous description.

• 1. What is the manipulated variable?• 2. What is the responding variable?• 3. Which beaker was the control?• 4. What info did you list on each axis?

#12What type of front is this?

#13

• Explain what happens during a cold front.

#16• List the four different types of air masses and where they

come from. Can you tell me which type of air mass would most likely affect Michigan and the Great Lakes?
