Dear SPX Family, Happy Labor Day! (A few days early) I know the kids are looking forward to having that extra day off from school. I hope that you all can enjoy extra family time during this holiday weekend. Next Friday, September 7, 2018 will be SPX Grand-parent’s Day dur ing our lunch hours of 11-1pm. I am extending an invitation to all Grandparents of SPX students to enjoy lunch/recess with their Grandchildren. Choir’s back!

Hello SPX! Next week marks the beginning of the choral year for St. Pius X Catholic School as we start our rehearsals! Any interested students in 3rd

grade and up are encouraged to attend our fir st rehearsal on Thursday,

September 6 from 3:20 – 4:20pm. There will be a Pr imary School ensem-ble (3rd-5th Grade) that, after our first rehearsal, will meet on Tuesdays as well as a Junior High ensemble (6th-8th grade) that will meet on Thursdays. I look forward to see-ing lots of students then as we get started with a bang! Our first performance will be Oct. 12th, at the 3rd annual Diocesan Primary and Junior High Music Festival. See you all then!

6th grade scientists at work—This week, Mrs. Merkel’s hom-eroom class worked on a STEM challenge. Each team was given only 15 pieces of pa-per and challenged with build-ing the tallest tower. They were then given 15 pieces of paper and tape and had to build the strongest tower.
