Terms and Conditions of Payment – Local (Malaysian) Students

1.0 Payment

1.1 All fees and deposits shall be payable to ‘Stamford College (Malacca) Sdn. Bhd.’ by crossed cheques, bank drafts or money orders.

1.2 Payments of fees by instalments shall apply if the semester fee is not paid within 7 days (grace period) from the intake date (applicable to local students only)

1.3 The first payment of fees by instalments shall be made at the time of the intake. Second and third fee instalments are due on the first of every month and a grace period of 7

days is provided (applicable to local students only).

1.4 Stamford College reserves the right to charge a late payment fee of RM5.00 per day to students who do not pay their fees promptly.

2.0 Exemption Fee

2.1 The exemption fee charged per subject is RM300 (Certificate and Diploma levels), RM400 (Undergraduate level) and RM500 (Postgraduate level). This is

applicable to all courses except North American Degree Program (NADP) where the exemption fee is RM400 per enrolment. However, exemption fee will not be charged if

the student has sat for the relevant subject in any course pursued previously in Stamford College.

3.0 Refund Policies

3.1 Tuition fees are fully refundable under circumstances indicated below.

(a) An offer of a place is withdrawn by Stamford College or the College is unable to provide the course registered for. If the offer, however, was made on the basis of

incorrect or incomplete information provided by the applicant, the College reserves the right to retain 10% of the tuition fees in the first semester.

(b) A student fails to progress to the next semester or level and is consequently not allowed to re-enrol, if the fees for the subsequent semester or level have been paid in

advance.

(c) Inability to obtain a student visa with supporting documentation.

(d) Illness or disability as certified by the panel doctors of the College.

3.2 Subject to 3.1, all fees paid are non refundable.

3.3 Partial refunds are paid under the circumstances shown below.

(a) A student, withdrawing from a programme enrolled at Stamford College, shall be refunded 70% of the tuition fees, provided written notice is received by the Director /

Head of the Centre at least 14 days before commencement of the semester.

(b) In the event that written notice for withdrawal of a programme is received less than 14 days before commencement of the semester, the refund is 30% of the tuition

fees.

3.4 There will be no refund of tuition fees once the semester has commenced, regardless of whether the student attends classes or not. Similarly, there will be no refund of

tuition fees if students leave Stamford for studying in overseas universities, local public and private universities, local university colleges or non-Stamford private institutions

of higher learning.

3.5 Library / Security deposit shall be refunded to students who have completed their programme or who have withdrawn from the course and do not have any outstanding

amounts owed to Stamford College. The College reserves the right to recover any outstanding amount owed by the student should the deposit be insufficient to cover the

sum involved. Students are to complete the ‘Fee Refund Form’ when requesting for refunds.

4.0 Repeat Subject and Resit Subject Fees

4.1 A student who is retaking a subject or subjects shall be entitled to 20% rebate of Stamford’s portion of tuition fee for the subject or subjects concerned.

4.2 A student who is resitting a subject or subjects shall be charged the assessment/examination fee for the subject or subjects only.
