CHEF Bites, a culinary health education curriculum designed for children, is being offered at St. James the
Apostle Catholic School. Students in Pre-K 4 and 1st grade will have the opportunity to observe cooking demos,
sample the recipes made each week, and learn about ways they can cook more healthy meals at home.

Survey ID code K#10 Annually, St. James the Apostle invites parents to provide feedback on five key areas of their
child/children’s experience at our school: Instructional Quality, Constituent Relations, Operational Excellence,
Financial Health, and Overall satisfaction.
We use a third party non-profit organization, the Excellence with Integrity Institute, to collect this data
through an anonymous survey and to report the results in summary form back to the school. The survey should
take about 10-15 minutes to complete.
Our school uses your feedback as part of our continuous improvement effort. This is your opportunity to
share your opinion about what works well and what you feel needs improvement at our school.
I hope that you will help us with this essential task by completing the anonymous survey by March 6,
2020. The survey can also be completed in Spanish. After clicking the link, choose Spanish in the upper right
language menu.
If you have multiple children and you feel they have had different experiences, you can complete more
than one survey to provide feedback for each child. So please use this chance now to have your voice heard by
completing the survey.

Prayer for Catholic Schools
Dear Lord, bless our Catholic schools. Help us to continue to be
a humble source of wisdom, always yearning to learn more about
your tremendous love for us. May all who enter our Catholic
schools be filled with the gift of your Holy Spirit, coming to
know you in a more meaningful way. Guide us as a community
that respects and welcomes everyone. May Catholic education
continue to grow so that your good news can be taught to
children throughout the world. Amen.
Develop your child's intellect through the royal game of chess! Current research has shown a strong link between chess and
academic performance in a variety of areas, including mathematics and language arts. Chess has been proven to enhance
children's motivation, concentration, focus, social skills, and creativity.
Each class will consist of a fun, interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Both beginner and experienced players are
welcome and will learn under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach. There will also be a chess competition with
prizes at the end of the session!
