STARstore, located at STARplex, is the sole supplier of the Trinity College uniform. Families are encouraged to make any uniform purchases well ahead of the start of school terms as it may be necessary to order some items, particularly if a specialty fitting is required. For pricing or size enquiries, please contact STARstore on 8522 0643. STARstore is open Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 12pm.

Our UniformTrinity students wear their uniform proudly at all times. The College uniform ensures students are well prepared for all activities. Our uniforms are neat, comfortable and embody a practical commitment to doing things well. Community consultation and student feedback has been a feature in designing Trinity uniforms. Regular reviews of the uniform and related policies are undertaken to ensure a uniform is delivered that:

• students are proud to wear• represents the College positively in the community• enables recognition and promotes safety• features choice and options• is inclusive of all students• is culturally respectful

Uniforms are also worn when representing the College in sport, during co-curricular activities and during physical education lessons. Parents/guardians are very important in assisting students wear the uniform well.

Cultural or religious head coverings or observations are respected in our uniform guidelines. The College is always open to support matters of cultural inclusion.

Each Trinity College school uniform features a distinctive coloured shirt and braiding on the collar of the summer dress.

The Formal Uniform can be worn all year and is compulsory in Terms 2 and 3. Summer options may be selected and worn in combination with Formal Uniform items in Terms 1 and 4. Formal Uniform is worn when representing the school (eg. on excursions) and on formal school occasions (eg. assemblies, official occasions). Trousers & Shorts

Blazer, Jumper, Raincoat & VestStudents are required to wear the official outerwear garment when outside school. Jumpers are available from Early Years to Year 12. They are required from Early Years to Year 6 as the official outerwear garment of the Formal Uniform. The jumper is College blue and embroidered with the College crest.

The opportunity to wear the College blazer is one that students look forward to and is an important rite of passage. Blazers are compulsory for all students in Years 7 to 12 and when worn with a shirt, are always worn with a tie. For Years 7 to 12, they are the official outerwear garment, with jumpers being an optional item able to be worn under the blazer for warmth.

The Year 7 to 12 blazer is College blue with no braiding and is embroidered with the College crest. In summer (Terms 1 and 4) the blazer is worn as determined by the school Principal, to formal assemblies, official occasions and excursions where the temperature does not exceed 30 degrees Celsius.

During winter (Terms 2 and 3) the blazer is worn to assemblies, official occasions, excursions, on the way to school, before Lesson 1 and on the way home from school. If the forecast of the day indicates a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius or higher, blazers need not be worn to or from school.

A College blue vest, embroidered with the College crest, may be worn over the shirt as an option from Early Years to Year 12. When worn with a shirt, jumpers and vests are always worn with a tie.

The optional Trinity raincoat may only be worn outside when the weather is wet.

There are three College ties: Early Years to Year 10, Years 11 and Year 12 and Prefect. The tie is always worn with the Formal Uniform.

All Trinity shirts are monogrammed with the College name or crest and may be worn all year round. When worn as part of the Formal Uniform, the shirt is worn with a tie. The short sleeve shirt may be worn without a tie in summer. Short sleeve shirts are available in banded and non-banded styles in all sizes. Non-banded shirts are required to be tucked in at all times.

Culottes (EY-12), Pinafore (EY-6), Dress (EY-12), Skirt (5-12)

Appropriate length regulation Trinity tartan for all items. Culottes can be purchased with either an elastic waist band or a fitted waist band. If a pinafore is worn, a tie must also be worn. Summer dresses featuring the Trinity tartan are made in a lightweight poly-viscose fabric. School identification is shown by a 10mm trim around the edge of the collar.

The only style permitted is regulation grey school trousers or shorts with zip front. Both trousers and shorts are available in either an elasticated or fitted option. Cuffs or cargo styles are not permitted.

As a sun-smart College, the blue Trinity College embroidered cloth hat is an essential element of the uniform. Hats are compulsory for outside activities (including co-curricular) and during recess and lunch from the 1st August until the 30th April, as well as from the 1st May until the 31st July when the UV index is 3 or above. Plain white socks (knee high or crew length) or navy opaque

tights are worn with the dress, skirt, pinafore or culottes. Socks and tights cannot be worn together. Grey socks are worn with the trousers or the shorts. Trinity PE socks are worn only with the PE uniform.

Shoes & SandalsTraditional black leather lace-up school shoes with black laces are worn throughout the year for Years 3 to 12. Boots, black track shoes, leather streetwear shoes, suede or patent shoes, buckles, Velcro fastening, coloured stitching, straps or heels exceeding 2.5cm are not permitted. In EY to Year 2 if children can tie their own shoelaces, they may wear lace-up school shoes as above. If they cannot tie their own shoe laces, they may wear Velcro or buckle fastening school shoes or may purchase a safe lock mechanism, which holds their laces in place, from STARstore. Black or brown school sandals, with a single back strap and single buckle or Velcro fastener, can be worn as an alternative to shoes in Terms 1 and 4. Fashion or slip on sandals are not permitted. Sandals are worn without socks. STARstore staff can assist regarding the suitability of particular sandals or shoes, however shoe purchases can be made external to STARstore.

Hair & AccessoriesHair should be clean, neat and tidy with fringes above the eye brows/held back off the face. Hair longer than the bottom of the collar is to be tied back completely in a neat fashion using:• elastics in red, dark blue, white, yellow, black or a similar

colour to the student’s hair• ribbons, headbands or scrunchies in single colours of red,

dark blue, white or yellow• tartan hair accessories purchased from STARstore Culturally appropriate head coverings are welcomed. Hairstyles and hair dyes deemed as extreme by the College are not permitted (ie. including but not limited to rat tails, excessive undercuts and mullets, obvious streaking, unnatural hair colours). Hair dyes in natural tones and colours are permitted. Students should be clean shaven. If unsure whether a new hairstyle is going to be within the guidelines, please check with your school before proceeding.

Makeup & NailsFoundation may be worn (natural appearance only). Eye makeup, artificial nails, coloured polish and false eyelashes are not permitted to be worn at school.

JewelleryThe following basic jewellery can be worn:• a wristwatch• small plain gold or silver ball stud earrings or plain gold or

silver sleeper earrings (maximum of one in each earlobe). Sleepers should be no larger than 12mm in diameter with no adornments or attachments and worn in the lowest hole in the lobe of the ear

• a small or simple light-gauge necklace including any adornment such as a locket or crucifix, etc. worn under the uniform is acceptable

Facial or tongue piercings, stretchers, spikes, visible tattoos are all not permitted.
