layout Create the Monorail configuration with the quantity of Geometrix® desired. The Monorail is bendable by hand to a minimum 15" radius. straight and geometric shapes are also possible using “l” (lM-l-Ch) and “T” (lM-T-Ch) connectors. To determine the length of Monorail needed, make a scale drawing (i.e. ¼" = 1 foot). Use a piece of string to trace the layout. Measure the length of string and calculate the length of track. Monorail is available in 4 and 8 foot lengths and is field-cuttable.
SuSpenSion Determine the distance below the ceiling that the Monorail is to be suspended. Both rigid rod suspension (A) (lM-X3/4/5-Ch) and aircraft cable suspension (B) (lM-Cs48/96-Ch) are available. Monorail should be supported at a minimum of every 42 inches, more frequently on tight curves. use a ceiling mounted adapter (C) (lM-CPC-Ch) with remote transformers or a surface mounted transformer (lM-eN-Ch series).
power Monorail is rated at 25A maximum – 300W @ 12v or 600W @ 24V. Add up the wattages of the fixtures in the plan. If the wattage is less than the maximum, only one power feed is required. If the wattage exceeds the maximum, multiple power feeds are necessary. A non-conductive connector (lM-ideC-Ch) is available to isolate two (or more) sections of Monorail into separate circuits. Use a surface mounted transformer for the simplest installation, but if multiple power feeds are needed, remote transformers may be more economical and provide a cleaner look. Important: Consult the voltage drop tables on pages 111-112 to make certain that the wire gauge feeding the Monorail will meet the power requirements of the system. Inadequate wiring may cause circuit breaker tripping or overheating.

Standard Monorail kitS Our Monorail Kits simplify the ordering process. The 250W kits consist of an electronic surface mounted transformer, monorails, standoffs and other components, and are available in 8' (2.4 m) & 12' (3.7 m) lengths.

Evaluate the type of system you need and decide whether you want a standard monorail kit, a custom monorail or to purchase supplies for existing track that you already own. Standard Monorail kit (page 106) 1) Choose Monorail Kit 2) Confirm the wattage: Make sure that amount of wattage required to power the number of fixtures that you are putting on the rail does not exceed the maximum allowed for the rail kit. If the wattage exceeds the maximum, multiple power feeds are necessary. 3) Order one quick connect adapter per fixture that is hanging from the track. 4) Extenders, connectors, additional rail sections and other hardware items can also be ordered separately. Complete offerings are listed on pages 107-109.

The quICK CONNECT TRACK TRANSFORMER adapter allows the use of any of the low Voltage Geometrix® Pendants with l, h, and J traditional track systems. The quick Connect Track Transformer will facilitate and unify the lighting design. The same quick Connect fixtures and pendants may be placed throughout an environment, utilizing Monorail, Monopoint and Multipoint, along with traditional track.
The quick Connect Track Transformer adapter is available in black or white and may be specified with any of the track adapter types (l, h, & J) that will fit most traditional track systems on the market.

All magnetic transformers emit a small amount of buzzing. our magnetic surface-mounted transformers have a built-in debuzzing coil, which substantially reduces the buzzing. If the buzzing noise is still noticeable, a separate debuzzing coil may be wired in series on the 120 volt input line. select the correct debuzzing coil based on the wattage of the transformer. Debuzzing coils are suggested especially when dimmers are employed.
