Siblings are entitled to RM500 discount on their tuition fee. This is a one-off deduction for new registrations (i.e. new students) only. Sunway Continuing BursaryFor Sunway College/Sunway University students(i) 10% Continuing Bursary for Degree Programmes at Sunway University. This bursary is applicable for 1 year of study. Students must progress to higher level of education.

For Sunway College Foundation in Arts students(i) 10% Continuing Bursary for Degree Programmes at Sunway University. This bursary is applicable for 3 years of study.

1. The scholarship is offered strictly to full-time registered students at Sunway University/Sunway College.

2. Offer of scholarship will only be made when the Institution receives the actual results. (Academic Certificate validity is 2 years prior to joining Sunway University/Sunway College - year 2010)

3. For students who are eligible for several forms of discount by Sunway Education Group or Sunway Group (e.g. Staff Discount, Sibling Discount, others), the scholarship awarded will be applicable on the net balance of the tuition fee payable after the deduction of the relevant discount/bursary.

4. Scholarship is awarded in the form of tuition fee waiver.5. The Scholarship is neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash.6. The award will be terminated upon completion of the study period

specified by Sunway University/Sunway College.7. Students receiving scholarships from other bodies are not eligible

for this scholarship.8. Applicants may accept only one scholarship at a time. 9. The final decision to grant a scholarship is at the sole discretion of

the Scholarship Committee of Sunway University/Sunway College.10. English 1119 will not be considered when granting the scholarship.11. Students must meet the programme entry requirements prior to be

eligible for scholarship.12. Sunway University/Sunway College reserves the right to change

For Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship andContinuing ScholarshipA. For Pre-University/Foundation Programmes:

1. Disbursement of scholarship: - 1 year programme. The disbursement of tuition fee waiver will

be implemented in the 2nd semester of the programme. - 1.5 year programme. The disbursement of tuition fee waiver will

be distributed in equal amount between 2nd semester and 3rd semester of the programme.

For full scholars, any reimbursement applicable will be made upon successful completion of the programme.

2. Full scholars need not make further semester tuition fee payments upon securing the scholarship. Any excess amount paid in the first semester will be reimbursed upon successful completion of the programme.

3. Tuition fee waivers for full scholars apply to the following: tuition fees for Australian Matriculation (5 subjects), Cambridge GCE A Level (3 subjects), Canadian International Matriculation Programme (up to 6 subjects only), Monash University Foundation Year (8 units only) and Foundation in Arts (Core Subject: 6, Academic Elective: 3, Enrichment Subject: 5).

B. For Diploma Programmes:1. The tuition fee waiver will be implemented in the 2nd semester of

the programme.2. Full scholars need not make further semester tuition fee payments

until the full utilisation of the total 1st year tuition fee.3. Full scholars upon utilising the total of the 1st year tuition fee, will

continue fee payments for the remaining semesters.

C. For American Degree Transfer Program:1. The tuition fee waiver will be implemented from the 2nd semester

of the programme until the full utilisation of the scholarship amount granted. Scholars upon utilising of the total amount granted shall continue to make payments on the remaining billable amounts.

2. Full scholars need not make further semester tuition fee payments until the full utilisation of the total 30 credit hours tuition fee. Scholars upon utilising the total of the 30 credit hours tuition fee will continue tuition fee payments for the remaining semesters.

D. For Degree Programmes:1. The tuition fee waiver will be implemented from the 1st semester of

the programme onwards.2. Scholars are required to reapply for the continuation of the

scholarship through Student Services Department on a yearly basis.3. There shall be no upgrading of scholarships.4. Decision on the continuation of the scholarship is at the sole

discretion of the Head of Department of the respective programme and the Scholarship Committee.

5. For UEC scholars: - Points are calculated based on 5 subjects, exclusive of Chinese,

Chinese Literature, Art and non-academic subjects - Results for all subjects must be at least C and above6. Scholars must maintain the following minimum grades as part of

the criteria to continue the scholarship: - Scholars on 25% scholarship must meet a minimum of 65%

grade average. - Scholars on 50% scholarship must meet a minimum of 70%

grade average.

E. For Continuing Scholarship:1. Students receiving this scholarship are not eligible for the 10%

Continuing Bursary.2. This scholarship is only available to Sunway University/Sunway

College students (Malaysian & international) who have completed either a Pre-University, Diploma or Foundation programme with Sunway University/Sunway College, Sunway College JB or Sunway College Ipoh.

3. The tuition fee waiver will be implemented from the 1st semester of the programme onwards.

4. Scholars are required to reapply for the continuation of the scholarship through Student Services Department on a yearly basis.

5. There shall be no upgrading of scholarships.6. Decision on continuation of the scholarship is at the sole discretion

of the Scholarship Committee.7. Scholars must maintain the following minimum grades as part of

the criteria for Continuing Scholarships: a. Scholars on 30% scholarship must meet a minimum of

65% grade average. b. Scholars on 50% and 75% scholarship must meet a minimum of

70% grade average.

For The Chancellors Scholarship1. Only Malaysian citizens are eligible to apply.2. Applicants may accept one scholarship at a time.3. Students awaiting pre-university results may apply. However, offer

of Scholarships will be made only when University receives the official final results and after an interview has been conducted.

4. The scholarship is neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash.5. Students receiving scholarships from other bodies are not eligible

for the scholarship.6. The Scholarship will be subjected to a review at the end of every

semester. A scholar must pass all examinations and maintain high academic standards (70% grade average), failing which the scholarships can be withdrawn.

7. The terms and manner in which the Scholarship is disbursed will be decided by Sunway University and Lancaster University. All decisions made by the joint Sunway University–Lancaster University Scholarship Committee are final.

For Talent Scholarship - Sports1. Qualified candidates MUST represent the Institution in MAPCU

games or any other tournaments as and when required by the Institution Management.

2. Sports Scholarship athletes must maintain good grades.3. Athletes are required to contribute at least 20 hours per year on

conducting sports training workshop, clinical work etc (exclude competition hours).

4. The Sports Scholarship is reviewed on a yearly basis. Scholarships can be revoked based on the discretion of the Institution.

For Talent Scholarship - Music1. The scholarship is offered strictly to full-time registered students of

Sunway University/Sunway College.2. Offer of Scholarship will only be made when the Sunway

University/Sunway College receives the actual results. 3. The scholarship is awarded in the form of tuition fee waiver.4. The schedule of general fees must be paid as and when required,

in accordance to Sunway University/Sunway College’s policy on enrolment and fees.

5. The recipients should at least pass with minimum grade required by the respective programme.

6. Recipients are required to reapply for the continuation of the scholarship through Student Services Department on a yearly basis.

7. Should the recipient be in acceptance of any other scholarship of any amount whatsoever, the scholarship will be automatically terminated.

For Sunway University Community Bursary1. This bursary is applicable for new registered students to Sunway

University only. (Students will have to meet the entry requirements of the programme enrolled.)

2. The bursary is offered from the commencement of the programme and will be granted in the form of a partial tuition fee waiver.

3. Applications are based on results obtained in SPM, O-Level & UEC examinations taken in year 2010 and 2011.

4. Students applying based on forecast results will be granted the bursary on a conditional offer that the actual result must meet the minimum entry requirements. Failing to do so will result in the bursary being revoked.

5. For students who are eligible for several forms of discount by Sunway Education Group or Sunway Group (e.g. Staff Discount, Sibling Discount, others), the bursary awarded will be applicable on the net balance of the tuition fee payable after the deduction of the relevant discount.

6. The quantum of awards (tuition fee waiver) to successful applicants is at the sole discretion of Sunway University.

7. This bursary is neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash or other alternatives.

8. This bursary will be terminated upon completion of the normal prescribed study period specified by Sunway University. The bursary is not applicable to tuition fee occurred due to repeat subject.

9. Sunway University reserves the right to review this bursary awarded on a yearly basis. The bursary may be withdrawn at anytime should the student fail to meet the required academic grades or due to misconduct.

10. In the event that the bursary recipient withdraws from the programme, is suspended or terminated by Sunway University at any point in time, before the completion of the programme, the bursary shall automatically be terminated.

11. The final decision to grant the bursary is at the sole discretion of Sunway University.

12. All applications must be received by the stipulated deadlines. Late applicants will not be considered.

For Sibling Discount1. Applicants must be registered as Sunway University/Sunway

College students. 2. Not applicable to government sponsored, corporate sponsored or

Language programmes students.3. Offer of discount will only be made when the Institution receives

the following documented proof: a. Certified photocopies of Birth Certificates for both siblings; b. Certified photocopies of IC for both siblings; c. Certified photocopies of Completion Certificate, Academic

Transcripts or Current Student ID Card from Sunway University/ Sunway College of a sibling.

4. The discount is in the form of a tuition fee waiver. It shall not be deducted from any general, registration, application or exam fees.

5. This discount is provided as a “One Time Off Deduction” for new registrants only. It will not be valid for returning, repeating or continuing students.

6. The final decision to grant the discount is at the sole discretion of the Admissions Unit of Sunway University/Sunway College.
