Economic kiln operation and high clinker quality are based on:

- stable temperatures,- air excess as low as possible,- low amounts of oxygen at the kiln inlet.

These requires pulverized coal to be fed free from pulsation in order to not exceed the limit values for SO2, NOX und CO.

Pulsation-free feeding in turn means feed constancy. The CORILOLIS coal dust feeding system from Schenck Process is optimally suited to fulfill this task.

Quick measurement for hi gh speed controlThe Coriolis measurement principle is ideally suited to coal dust feeding, meeting all requirements regarding short-term feed constancy and long-term accuary.

The Coriolis force is a force, which acts upon a moving mass on a rotation wheel. Thisphysical law is the basis of our Coriolis measuringsystems. Feed material is fed to a measuringwheel running at a constant speed. The Coriolisforce acting upon the feed material is measuredwith high precision by integrated load cell andit is exactly proportional to the mass flow, even with varying bulk density and grain size.

A new standard of short-term feed constancy

Short-term feed constancy is the essential parameter as far as maintaining a constantburner flame and ensuring stable kiln operation is concerned.

+ Guarantee for a short-term feed constancy of ± 1% over a time intervall of 10 sec

+ Improved clinker quality, resulting from a more stable burning process

+ Reduced fuel consumption resulting from a lower portion of exess air to be heated in the kiln - without exceeding the limit values for SO2, NOX and CO

+ Reduced power consumption, resulting from a reduced power of the exhaust fan

A new standard of feed reliabilty

The Coriolis principle permits direct measurement of the mass flow. As opposed to conventional measuring principles, direct measurement of mass flow is not affected by external factors.

+ Feeding is not affected by loads applied to the outside of the unit, or by dust deposits (alternations in tare load)

+ Vibrations of building, platform or supporting structure have no influence whatever on the feed process

+ System is not affected by air pressure variations in the conveyor line

+ No mutual influence of prallel feeding systems on one platform

+ No influences of wind forces
