The standard 40-hour work week for DoD civilians is Sunday through Thursday with up to an additional 31 hours of overtime authorized each week, if necessary to meet mission requirements. An employee may request to earn compensatory time in lieu of overtime, however, they may only convert and carry up-to 80 hours of compensatory time, all hours above that will be oveime.
