An Open Letter to Our Fellow Parishioners Our Holy Mother, the Church, is in crisis. It seems that a new scandal rocks the Catholic Church almost daily. It is time for us, as Catholics of St. Joan of Arc, to make a stand—to insist that the clergy be cleansed of these evils. We can do this by uniting with the clergy in prayer, fasting, and penance. Thankfully, the Church has set aside special days with emphasis on praying and fasting for the sanctification of the clergy, as well to thank God for His many graces and to make reparation for our own personal sins. These times are called Ember Days and occur at the commencement of each season during a calendar year. Our Bishop has decreed that all parishes in the Diocese observe the Ember Days and we, as faithful Catholics, should be happy to do so out of filial devotion to our spiritual father. The first set of Ember Days in 2019 are March 13, 15 and 16. We are asking the parishioners of St. Joan of Arc to join with the clergy and parishioners throughout the Diocese in observing the Ember Days by attending Mass, praying, and fasting for reparation for sins, for increased sanctification of the clergy, for strengthening the faith for all Christians, and for healing. Thanking you for your consideration, faith and prayers, we are Yours in Christ, THE PASTORAL COUNCIL OF ST. JOAN OF ARC, RYAN ROZAS KENNY BERRY KELLIE MANUEL JAMES “TEE” RYDER MARY DUBRIEL DEBRA REEVES SUSANA BEAUBOUEF ROYCE SCIMEMI PATRICIA COLE REV. MR. JAMES DESHOTEL
