ELECTRICALSHOCKHAZARD–Turn off power at the main service panel by removing the fuse or switching the appropriate circuit breaker to the Off position before removing the existing thermostat.

1. Turnoffpowertotheheatingandcoolingsystembyremovingthefuseorswitchingofftheappropriatecircuitbreaker.

2. Removecoverofoldthermostat.Thisshouldexposethewires.3. Labeltheexistingwireswiththeenclosedwirelabelsbeforeremovingwires.Seetablebelowforold

andnewlabelidentification.4. Afterlabelingwires,removewiresfromwireterminals.5. Removeexistingthermostatbasefromwall.6. Refertothefollowingsectionforinstructionsonhowtoinstallthisthermostat.

Note:Mountthethermostataboutfivefeetabovethefloor.Donotmountthethermostatonanoutsidewall,indirectsunlight,behindadoor,orinanareaaffectedbyaventorduct.

1. Turnoffpowertotheheatingandcoolingsystembyremovingthefuseorswitchingofftheappropriatecircuitbreaker.

2. PutMode switchinOffposition.

3. PutFan switchinAutoposition.

4. Toremovecover,insertandtwistacoinorscrewdriverintheslotsonthesidesofthethermostat.

5. Putthermostatbaseagainstthewallwhereyouplantomountit(Besurewireswillfeedthroughthewireopeninginthebaseofthethermostat).

6. Marktheplacementofthemountingholes.

7. Setthermostatbaseandcoverawayfromworkingarea.

8. Usinga3/16”drillbit,drillholesintheplacesyouhavemarkedformounting.

9. Useahammertotapsuppliedanchorsinmountingholes.

10. Alignthermostatbasewithmountingholesandfeedthecontrolwiresthroughwireopening.

11. Usesuppliedscrewstomountthermostatbasetowall.

13. Tightenscrewsonterminalblock.Gentlytugwiretobesureofproperconnection.Doublecheckthateachwireisconnectedtotheproperterminal.

14. Sealholeforwireswithnon-flammableputtyorinsulation.

CAUTION!:Installingbatteriesincorrectlycandamagethermostat.

15. Installtwofresh“AA”alkalinebatteriesinbatterycompartment.Besuretomatchpositive(+)endsofbatterieswithpositive(+)batteryterminalsinthebatterycompartment.

Thedisplaywillshow:

16. Replacecoveronthermostatbysnappingitinplace.

17. Turnonpowertothesystematthemainservicepanel.

18. TestthermostatoperationasdescribedonPages9and10.

Ifyourthermostatwaspre-installed,thebatteriesmaybeinplace.Ifthedisplayison,thebatteriesareinstalledcorrectly.Ifthedisplayisblank,flashing,orconstantlyshowinga“LOBAT”message,thebatteriesareeithernotinstalled,installedincorrectly,ordrained.Correctbatteryproblemsimmediately.Seebelow.

IMPORTANT: Replacethebatterieswhenthe“LOBAT”messageflashesonthedisplay.Thiswillkeepthethermostatoperatingproperly.Use“AA”

4.Installtwo“AA”alkalinebatteriesinbatterycompartment.Besuretomatchthepositive(+)endsofthebatterieswiththepositive(+)terminalsasmarkedinthebatterycompartment.

5.Checktoseethatthedisplayison.Thedisplaywillshow:

TherearethreeLEDindicatorslocatedonthefrontofthethermostat.Theyaredesignedtoinformyouofthefollowing:

AUX (GREEN): Thisturnsonwhentheauxiliary(back-up)heatingisinoperation.Thisisthesecond(non-economy)stageofheat.Itturnson2degreesbelowfirststageandisnotadjustable.

CHECK (RED): Whenthisturnson,amalfunctionhasoccurredsomewhereintheheatpumpsystem.Pleasecontactaqualifiedservicetechnicianassoonaspossibletocheckyoursystem.

EMER (RED): Thislightturnsonwhenevertheemergencyheatismanuallyselected(systemswitchisintheEMERposition).Whileintheemergencyheatmode,theheatpumpcompressorisoff,andtheemergencyheat(sameastheauxiliaryheat)maintainsthesetpointtemperature.

Setting the Setpoint TemperatureStep1: Pressthe or button;thecurrenttemperaturesetpointdisplays.

Step2: Pressthe or buttonuntilthedesiredtemperaturesetpointdisplays.

Note:Holdingdowneitherthe or buttonwillscrollthetemperaturedisplay.

Thenewtemperaturesettingisautomaticallysaved.After5seconds,thedisplayreturnstoshowingthecurrentroomtemperature.

Setting a New Temperature DifferentialIMPORTANT:Thedefaulttemperaturedifferentialisfactorysetat1°F.Whenyourroomtemperature

variesby1°F,thethermostatturnsyoursystemon.Ifyounoticeyoursystemturningonandofftoofrequently,increasethetemperaturedifferentialaccordingly.

Step1: Removethecoverandthebatteries.

Step2: Reinstallthebatteriesandthecover.ThedisplaywillshowThisisthetemperaturedifferentialsetting.

Step3: Pressthe or buttontoadjustthetemperaturedifferentialdownorup.

Thedisplaywillreturntotheroomtemperaturedisplayfivesecondsafterthelastinput.Thenewtemperaturedifferentialsettingwillbesaved.
