Mission
The Florida Small Business Development Center Network (Florida SBDC Network) delivers, through certified professionals, consulting, training and information to help businesses succeed and create positive impact for the Florida economy.
The Florida SBDC Network serves as the statewide single point of contact for the advancement of an entrepreneurial environment; thus creating a positive foundation for the growth of micro, small and medium size businesses in Florida
SBDC -- Overview
History
The Florida SBDC Network was founded in 1976 as part of a pilot program developed by the Small Business Administration. The network was authorized nationally in 1980 by act of Congress.
Funding for the Florida SBDC Network comes from the SBA, university / institutional partners and local non-federal funding sources.
Northeast Florida SBDC is hosted at the University of North Florida and funding for Nassau County is provided by SBA, UNF and the Nassau County Economic Development Board / Nassau Tomorrow Initiative.

Next Level Business Assistance – Designed to deliver substantive professional business consulting to qualified small & medium sized businesses. This program focuses on strategic planning, identifying new markets, financial analysis, capital access & leadership strategies. Consultants are both Certified Business Analysts and
private sector industry professionals
Program Qualifications Company must have a goal for growth Minimum of 3 years operating business 5 – 20 fulltime employees $500k - $10m in annual sales
CEO Xchange
Connecting Executives – CEO Xchange is an executive roundtable program serving progressive chief executives and business owners. Designed specifically for second-stage companies, CEO Xchange offers a confidential setting for top executives to discuss vital business issues, opportunities and trends with a group of peers.
How it Works – A group of 10 – 12 top executives from non-competing businesses are selected to form a group. Under the guidance of a program facilitator, the group meets for three to five hours a month, 10 times per calendar year.
PTAC
The Florida SBDC Network Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) provides free counseling services to Florida businesses interested in obtaining contracts with the Department of Defense, other federal agencies, state/local government agencies and prime government contractors.
PTAC provides: One-on-one confidential consultation Assistance preparing 8(a) certification applications Guidance on various government requirements Access to a wide range of procurement resources Training events
