2016 SBA Student Leadership Award

Awarded for outstanding law school leadership in addition to community service Amount: $2,000 to help defray costs relating to the Bar Prep Course or Post-Graduation expenses. Eligibility: Must be a 3L or have attended Coastal Law for at least 3 years, have paid student dues each semester, and plan to take the Bar exam immediately following graduation or within one year of award receipt. Applicant must have at least 2.0 GPA and have significant community service involvement (50+ hours). Applicant must also demonstrate leadership on campus through any of the various student organizations.

Description: The SBA Student Leadership Award was created to reward outstanding leadership and community service. This award was established through a generous donation from the 2013-2014 Student Bar Association. Application Materials: Each applicant must submit all of the following information and materials:

1. Application Form you will need to save the form to your own computer first to preserve your responses. You can attach the completed form to an email, or print and return with your package in person or by mail.

2. A Letter of Recommendation from a member of faculty. 3. A Nomination Letter from either an executive member of a student organization or student in a similar position

who can attest to your impact on campus. 4. A typed, 250 words or less, Summation Essay on why you need this award and how it will benefit you.

Submission Instructions: Students should complete all Application materials and return to The Florida Coastal School of Law Foundation by one of the following methods:

Application Evaluations: The Student Bar Association Scholarship Committee will evaluate each award application and select the award recipients in its sole discretion, bound only by the purposes of the award and award criteria. To facilitate the decision making process, the Scholarship Committee may, in its discretion, require a personal interview with any or all award applicants.
