ภาษาอังกฤษนับเปนเคร่ืองมือที่สําคัญในการติดตอสื่อสารในโลกไรพรมแดน ไมวาจะเพ่ือการส่ือสารหรือ

การเขาถึงองคความรู วิทยาการ และเทคโนโลยี การแขงขันในเวทีโลกทําใหภาษาอังกฤษยิ่งมีความสําคัญมากข้ึน

ในฐานะเปนภาษากลางในการตดิตอกันระหวางประเทศตาง ๆ ซ่ึงแมแตประชาคมอาเซียน (ASEAN Community)

ยังกําหนดใหภาษาอังกฤษเปนภาษาทํางาน (working language) อีกดวย

การเตรียมความพรอมและเพ่ิมศักยภาพจึงเปนเร่ืองที่สําคัญอยางยิ่งในอนาคตของผูเรียน ทั้งนี้ หลักสูตร

แกนกลางการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน พุทธศักราช 2551 จึงกําหนดใหภาษาอังกฤษเปนภาษาตางประเทศที่ผูเรียนทุกคนตอง

เรยีนรูอยางตอเนื่อง และยังกาํหนดเปาหมายใหผูเรยีนสามารถใชภาษาอังกฤษไดในชวีติจรงิ เพือ่การติดตอสื่อสารและ

การทํางานในอนาคต

บริษัท อักษรเจริญทัศน อจท. จํากัด จึงรวมมือกับบริษัท Express Publishing ผลิตสื่อฯ ชุด EXTRA and

Friends ข้ึน เพ่ือพัฒนาผูเรียนในระดับช้ันประถมศึกษา โดยมีเนื้อหาครอบคลุมตัวช้ีวัดและมาตรฐานการเรียนรู

อยางครบถวน นอกจากนั้น สื่อฯ ชุดนี้ยังประกอบไปดวยจุดเนนสําคัญ ดังนี้

1. รูปแบบภาษาที่ใชในสถานการณจริง (realistic language patterns) เพื่อเตรียมพรอมผูเรียนสําหรับการ

3. กิจกรรม CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) ทีใ่ชแนวคดิในการสอนเนือ้หาของ

สาระการเรียนรูอื่นผานภาษาอังกฤษ เพื่อเสริมความรู และฝกใชภาษาในสถานการณที่หลากหลาย

4. การเรียนรูวัฒนธรรมของเจาของภาษาในกิจกรรม Culture Channel เนื่องจากการเรียนรูวัฒนธรรมของ

เจาของภาษา จะทําใหผูเรียนเขาใจภาษามากขึ้น

5. การเรียนรูวัฒนธรรมของประเทศในกลุ มประชาคมอาเซียน ในกิจกรรม Welcome to ASEAN

Countries ซ่ึงนําเสนอวิถีชีวิตและวัฒนธรรมของประเทศตาง ๆ ในอาเซียน เพ่ือใหผู เรียนสามารถ

เปรยีบเทียบความเหมือนและความแตกตางของแตละประเทศ อีกทั้งยังพฒันา concept ของกจิกรรมมาจาก

ASEAN Curriculum Sourcebook อีกดวย

คณะผูจัดทํามั่นใจวา สื่อฯ ชุด EXTRA and Friends นี้จะมีสวนพัฒนาใหผูเรียนของไทยมีความสามารถใน

การส่ือสารดวยภาษาอังกฤษตามที่ตัวช้ีวัดและมาตรฐานการเรียนรูของหลักสูตรแกนกลางการศึกษาข้ันพ้ืนฐาน

พุทธศักราช 2551 กําหนด รวมทั้งผูเรียนสามารถประยุกตใชภาษาอังกฤษในชีวิตจริงไดอยางมีประสิทธิภาพ และมี

โอกาสใชเปนเครื่องมือในการศึกษาตอในระดับที่สูงขึ้นตอไป

In the UK, children invite their friends to a birthday partywhen it’s their birthday.Before the party, the birthday child decorates the house with balloons and banners.

At the party, all the children play party games and eat party food. They also like listening to music and dancing.

Friends bring birthday presents and birthday cards to theparty. There is a birthday cake with candles. All thechildren sing Happy Birthday! The birthday child tries to blow out all the candles in one go and makes a wish.

When it’s time to go home, the birthday child gives the guests a party bag with a slice of birthday cake and a small toy.

It’s family time!

Family is very important in ASEAN culture. People often celebrate

festivals with their loved ones. It’s a good time for them to be with

their families and friends. In ASEAN countries, family members come

together.

In Singapore, the family comes together

in February during Chinese New Year. They

all have dinner. There are special dishes

such as Fa Cai (seaweed), Bao Yu (abalone)

and Hou Si (dried oysters). Over the next

two days, they will visit their relatives and

friends.

In Thailand, there is Songkran festival. It

takes place on the 13th-15th April every year.

The second day of Songkran is officially the

National Family Day. When Songkran comes,

people like to return to their hometown to

spend time with their families. They bring

jasmine garlands to pay respect to their

parents and grandparents. Some people go

out for fun. They splash water on other

people. It’s a lot of fun! People also usually

wear colourful floral shirts.

Both Thailand and Singapore have days for families because they value their families. Other ASEAN countries do this too. They celebrate important traditions together. They love spending time together!
