saying yes to god
TRANSCRIPT
PROVERBS 16: 1 – 3 NIV
To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the proper answer of the tongue.
All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the LORD.
Commit to the LORD whatever you do,and he will establish your plans.
PROVERBS 16: 1 – 3, MESSAGE
Mortals make elaborate plans, but GOD has the last word.
Humans are satisfied with whatever looks good;GOD probes for what is good.
Put GOD in charge of your work, then what you’ve planned will take place.
OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH GOD
Based on our saying “yes” to Him.
We don’t know how, but “yes”
We don’t know when, but “yes”
We don’t know where, but “yes”
We don’t know with whom, but “yes”
The correct answer is always: “yes”!
THE “CYCLE” OF OBEDIENCE
Each “yes” begins a new adventure
Each new adventure challenges us to new lessons
of faith
Each new lesson of faith yields new
understanding
New understanding produces new levels of
maturity
New levels of maturity set us up for another new
adventure!
ARE YOU “DONE” GROWING IN CHRIST?
”Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.
But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus”. (Philippians 3: 12 – 14).
