Dear Reader,

I greet You in the name of our Lord and Savior,

Jesus Christ. SAVED! publication of IASNF is

happy that you are a part of this organization

and a member of the Body of Christ. As our

name declares, we are saved, sanctified, and

filled with the Holy Spirit. We want to encour-

age the Body of Christ to grow stronger in the

Lord each day through prayer, praise, study of

His Word, and fellowship with the saints. We

strive to not only help to strengthen those who

have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior,

we are fervently helping and praying that those

who are lost will soon be found so that they too

will declare salvation and belonging to the Sav-

ior, Christ Jesus!

I feel so blessed every time someone joins the I

Am Saved Now Fellowship, becomes a follower

of our subscription, and especially when a spir-

itual leader such as a pastor, apostle, prophet,

minister or preacher joins us. We are

strengthened when God’s people come togeth-

er to join forces bringing their anointing, their

talents, their churches, and their resources.

I believe that are assembling together helps us

to build one another up to bring about love, en-

couragement and a security that you are never

alone and never having to feel alone. Unfortu-

nately, we sometimes feel this way in spite of

our personal relationships with Jesus Christ.

We particularly feel this way when it seems like

we are all alone doing the work of the Lord.

Child of God, know that we are praying for you

everyday and that we love you. God loves you

so much that He promises to never leave you

nor forsake you. The Psalmist wrote that he

once was young and now he is old; But he has

never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed

begging bread. Dear brother, dear sister, the

promises of God are for you. Know that God is

taking care of you.

In this issue of SAVED!, we just want to remind

you that you are never alone, God loves you

and that all of your needs are met. He has a

calling on your life that is tailor-made just for

you. We encourage you to walk into that

anointing, to be obedient to His word, and to

be patient for your breakthrough.

This message is for everyone who will receive

it. We especially encourage our leaders...All of

you who are bishops, pastors, prophets, apos-

tles, and ministry leaders. We want to know

that we are here for you knowing that we need

encouragement and someone to lean on just

as our parishioners do.

I thank you for your being a part of us. You are

invaluable and we praise God for you. We

praise God for all of your support and we look

forward to seeing you as we grow in our en-

deavors.

Praises to the King!

I DECIDE TO STOP DIABETES® DAY

What is ID Day?

November is American Diabetes Month® and a time to

communicate the seriousness of diabetes and the importance

of diabetes prevention and control. In concert with other

American Diabetes Month activities, on November10,2013,the

American Diabetes Association engages churches across the

country to celebrate ID Day at Church, a nationwide movement to

Stop Diabetes.®

Why FaithWhy FaithWhy FaithWhy Faith----based Organizations?based Organizations?based Organizations?based Organizations?

On ID Day, the American Diabetes Association mobilizes churches in the African American com-

munity on a national level. Approximately 13 million African American households can be

reached directly or indirectly through the church. The typical Black Church has an average at-

tendance that is about 50% greater than the average church and Black Churches are a trusted

source of information for their community.

Churches of all sizes may join in. Many congregations answer the call to action by creating an

ID Day Signature Event such as:

Hosting a week of prayer around diabetes.

Creating a sea of red—have everyone wear red corsages or hats or handkerchiefs.

Setting up a time to walk as a team—and have everyone wear red baseball caps!

Releasing red balloons at noon on ID Day.

Addressing diabetes from the pulpit and via bulletin inserts.

Nearly five million African Americans have diabetes.

African Americans are almost twice as likely to have diabetes com-pared to the general population.

African Americans experience higher rates of serious complications of diabetes: heart disease, blindness, amputation, and kidney dis-

ease.

Multiple, Simultaneous Events

Each year, millions of individuals participate in events leading up to ID Day and ID Day activities.

The Association provides scripted messages for church event coordinators to share with the mem-

bers of their congregation. The Association also offers a variety of community programs with script-

ed lesson plans, PowerPoint slides, targeted handouts, health education materials, and access to

other resources needed to get community members going.

Local representatives of the American Diabetes Association help provide additional guidance about

ID Day, American Diabetes Month, and Project POWER workshops. They help communities tailor ac-

tivities to meet the needs of individual churches and communities.

ID Day churches share successes by sending short descriptions of events and photos. And, in addi-

tion to getting input into how their ID Day events were received, the American Diabetes Association

asks participants to provide contact information so we can

keep them engaged and reach out to them about future

events and activities.

Within the various circles that he finds himself in, from streets to the boardroom, Bishop is asked

the same question often. It may be formulated differently from all of the different people he in-

teracts with. But the answer always has the same foundation of how he believes, what he be-

lieves and who he believes in. The following outlines Bishop Andrew Watkins and what he be-

lieves, what his convictions are, and how it has propelled him to do the work God has given him

to do. As Bishop Watkins speaks, he always starts off quoting the Word of God. In this instance

he states,

“The Bible says in I Corinthians 12:5, ‘4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of

activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit

is given to each one for the profit of all.’ It is the purpose of the I Am Saved Now Fellow

ship (IASNF) to identify and recognize the men and women who are leading the Body of

Christ. This recognition will serve to unify them and connect them to bring about a cover

ing, fellowship, growth, development and shared resources. We strive to be an ecumeni

cal community with an interdenominational and international demographic.”

Ultimately, what Bishop Watkins believes is that there must be a relationship with Christ in order

to have a true connection with the rest of the ecumenical body. He says, “I believe that God will

strengthen us as He unifies us for His glory.”

Prayer of

Salvaon

Dear Heavenly Father,

Your Word in Romans 10:9 says, “That if you

confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and

believe in your heart that He was raised from

the dead, you will be saved.” So Father, I

come, humbled before you with a sincere heart,

confessing with my mouth and believing in my

heart that You died and rose again for me.

Lord please forgive me for my sins and save me

right now. Father, I receive You into my

heart and now I trust You with my life. I

thank You for Your love, Your mercy, and Your

grace. Thank you for saving me!

In Jesus’name, I pray. Amen!

“Incline your ear, and come to Me.

Hear, and your soul shall live;

And I will make an everlasting covenant with you—

The sure mercies of David.

4 Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people,

A leaderleaderleaderleader and commander for the people.”

~Isaiah 55:3-4~

Just like God hearkened unto the prophet Isaiah, God has

placed effective leaders among us who have been called

and ordained by God to hold the office of bishop. We are,

consistently, in prayer for them and their leadership.

We feel honored and privi-

leged to have a very special,

ecumenical group of leaders

that have come among us to

help our Presiding Prelate,

Bishop Andrew Watkins, Sr.,

Ph.D., do the work of the

Lord.

In their individual churches

and ministries, they have

shown exemplary leadership

in all of their experience. We

honor them throughout this Leadership Edition of Saved!

Magazine. We want to encourage and remind our mem-

bers and our readers that we do not have to look very far

for men and women of God who have fearlessly walked in

the authority God has placed on them to be the leaders

he has called them to be.

With both male

and female,

some younger,

some older,

some with large

congregations,

some with small

ministries, we

know that God

can use anybody. We celebrate that we live in an age

where God is pouring His Spirit onto all flesh. We live in

times where our sons and our daughters are prophesy-

ing, our old men are dreaming dreams, and our young

men are seeing visions. (Joel 2:28) It is an exciting time

for the Body of Christ to come together this way.

As you read through this periodical, you will find profiles

of our bishops, all consecrated by God through Bishop

Watkins, sprinkled throughout this issue. It is their mo-

ment in the spotlight as we focus on leadership and the

constant need for Spirit-filled, God-led, born-again, saved

believers to come to the forefront. They are at the fore-

front at I Am Saved Now Fellowship (IASNF) and we ap-

preciate their very presence with us.

As we move forward, we encourage other leaders in the

Body of Christ, to join us. We are always looking for peo-

ple of God who want to be used and want to led by Him.

This decla-ration is meant to always convict, con-firm, and affirm the hearts and minds of all those who are associated to live a life that is pleasing unto God. This organization functions as an ecu-

menical fellowship, which means we lead through influence. You, your church or your ministry becoming asso-ciated with IASNF means that you stay in control of your church, your ministry, and your individual focus of what God is leading you to do. What we provide is leverage. Because you are an IASNF member, you have leverage in voice, lev-erage in buying power, and leverage in access. As we grow throughout our region, our republic, and throughout the world, we are building up various places for you to display your spiritual gifts. With your membership, there will be opportunities for you to evangelize, sing, teach, preach, or display whatever your spiritual gifts or talents may be. It will all be used to the honor and glory of God’s name. Ultimately, we desire for Christian lead-ers to be fully equipped and ready to disciple all of those who are lost into the Body of Christ. We want to make sure that leaders have a place to go to in their time of need and when trials come. We are building an infrastructure that will help make God’s leaders feel more secure when they need a shoulder to lean on.

What IASNF is All About

Page 19: Saved magazine Oct/Nov 2013

New Directions Christian Fellow-ship Church of Houston, Texas, is walking by faith and not by sight. Since February of 2006, they have exemplified leader-ship in their mere will to sur-vive. Like every growing church, the New Directions Family has ex-perienced its ups and downs on many levels. But, in this period-ical, we celebrate how they have led their Greenspoint community in sharing the Gos-pel with many by just handing them a Bible. This has been done over 75,000 times. In the last four years, they have fed over 150 families at Thanksgiv-ing and Christmas, including gifts for children and adults. And, for several months, their church doors were open to the public to feed them with the Word and a meal.

Many have been converted and baptized under the anointing of Bishop Andrew Watkins and his unfailing will to be obedient to the Spirit of God. He preaches and teaches the Word of God fiercely and honestly. He allows God to use him in a way that just blesses oth-ers. This church is now the lead church in the I Am Saved Now Fellowship (IASNF) and home to New Directions The-ological Institute. They have witnessed the hand of God encapture young people like never before and watched the unsaved become trans-formed and renewed as they accepted Jesus unto them-selves. They have been the host to

many community and business events. But, they understand that their purpose is to worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth as frequently as they can. Often required in leadership, this church and ministry has experienced trial and triumph, defeat and victory, discourage-ment and glory. Through it all, this is a church that has been leaning on God and has been unchanged, in their spirit, to serve the Lord. God is now spreading their wings and enlarging their terri-tory as they get ready plant and continue to work of the Lord. They pray everyday and work hard to do all they can to bring glory to the work of the Lord. By anonymous member

tial, I have found that influence,

impact, and increase depend on

something beyond our IQ, EQ, or

GQ. I have discovered that a per-

son's LQ- Leadership Quotient-is a

significant and primary predictor of

the size of a person's impact, influ-

ence, and income.

What is LQ? LQ is the study of your

personal leadership intelligence,

which brings men and women to

the maximum of their God-given

potential!

Leadership Quotient Definition

Leadership Quotient (LQ) is a com-

posite measure of a person's lead-

ership skills that positively influ-

ences people to join that person in

achieving desired outcomes that

benefit others.

LQ Solution Key - You will only fulfill

a fraction of your potential all by

yourself. Increasing your ability to

influence people, maximizes your

personal potential for achievement.

I have identified five ways in which

many pastors tend to do ministry.

1. They do everything themselves.

That's how most leaders try to func-

tion, especially when the congrega-

tion is small. Eventually the realiza-

tion hits: This is too much work!

2. They do nothing at all. This meth-

od does not produce the results you are

looking for and will eventually cause you

to go backward. That's too much disap-

pointment!

3. They hire out. Some churches pay

others to manage part or the entire load.

This choice may work when the economy

is flourishing, but in economic down-

turns, this is expensive. That's too much

money!

4. They delegate everything. Even to

people who have not been properly

trained. This causes your quality and

excellence levels to plummet. That's too

much mediocrity!

5. They develop others. Some leaders

teach people how to do the task but fail

to develop the head and the heart of the

leader. That's too much lost time!

Each of these ways of operation has a

negative drawback. Obviously, a leader's

focus should be number 5 - to develop

people into leaders. However, the chal-

lenge is having the time, money, and

training material. That's where The LQ

Solution Book can help you develop and

train more qualified leaders for your en-

tire church. Your ministry will only grow

to the degree of your church's ability to

care for more people.

performance, and income. In

1905, French psychologist Al-

fred Binet developed the first

IQ (Intelligence Quotient) test.

The thesis was that a high

score on this test measured a

person's intelligence.

IQ plays a role in maximizing

your potential, but there's

more. For example, our Emo-

tional Quotient (EQ) also im-

pacts how a person leads. We

even have fashion experts for

men who have successfully

produced the GQ magazine

that evaluates and educates

men on fashion trends.

What Is Missing?

Do you know really bright, emo-

tionally strong, and beautifully

dressed people who never

seem to achieve anything and

are always broke? On the other

side, do you know people who

are not very bright, emotionally

healthy, and poorly dressed

who have achieved incredible

things in life? In my sixteen

And while many of us do not agree

with the policies of our current ad-

ministration, we do not agree with

everything that he believes in, many

of us are satisfied with the hope that

we all have a chance and an oppor-

tunity to pursue our dreams and

know that they can be achieved. The

playing field is becoming more level

for all colors of the rainbow in

these United States of America.

The future for black and white,

Latino and Native-American, Chi-

nese-American and middle-

eastern American, is bright and

hopeful. It is hopeful for all of us,

as long as we educate, encour-

age, inform, protect, and spiritually

feed our children and ourselves. We

can all overcome the racism that still

exists today if we are willing to love,

forgive, and stand, unapologetically,

for who we are and what we believe

in.

Now, in the I Am Saved Now Fellow-

ship (IASNF), at such a historical

time, we are so pleased that our very

own Bishop Andrew Watkins has

made history for us, for our commu-

nities, for Christiandom, for the Body

of Christ, and for the full ecumenical

community of bishops around the

world. The hope for his future as a

bishop is bright, yet uncertain. It is a

walk of faith, not of sight.

Bishop Watkins places all of his faith

and hope and trust in God and is

eager for whatever and however God

chooses to use him.

In Dr. King’s last speech on April

3, 1968, just days before his

death, he spoke as a prophet. He

spoke with hope on his breath

and encouragement in his heart

for such babies as Bishop Wat-

kins who was only four years old

at the time of this speech. Dr.

King was hoping and praying for

babies, such as Barack Obama,

who was only six years old at the

time of this speech. He was look-

ing to them to make it to the

mountaintop.

And now, our country is at a

crossroads. Our government has

shut down and is on the brink of

an economic holocaust. People

are tempted to become fearful as

the government becomes more

and more divided each day.

At this time, we beg you to differ.

We plead with you to remain

hopeful. We dare you to stand up

for what is right. We encourage

you to walk by faith and not by

sight because that is what it

means to be a leader.

“I’ve been to the mountain-top!”

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On January 21, 2013, the United

States of America has come full cir-

cle. And how iconic it was for the

first black president of the United

States of America to be sworn in for

a second term on Martin Luther King,

Jr. Day. Only God could have

planned this day. Only God could

orchestrate such a momentous occa-

sion. Only God, could bring us as a

people, bring us as a nation, bring us

a the human race, to this place in

time.

As we look back to his Dr. King’s final

speech: “I’ve Seen the Promised

Land,” we know that God was truly

using him as a vessel. Martin Luther

King Day, 2013, made us all feel like

we made it to the mountaintop. We

all feel like we have come so far.

And, even though we know that we

still have a long road ahead, we

know that the way back down the

mountain is going to be rough and

bumpy. Yet, we are hopeful, we are

energetic, we are ready to move for-

ward, knowing that we can do all

things through Christ, who strength-

ens us. (Philippians 4:13)

you so much that He gave His only begot-

ten Son that whoever will believe in Jesus

Christ, will never die, but will have ever-

lasting life. (John 3:16) God wants you

to know that He cares for you and every-

thing about you. He wishes that none will

perish. He wants you to be prosperous

and in good health. He desires only good

for you and that no harm will come to

you.

If you do not already know him or if you

need to be reminded, you are loved by

Him! Therefore, you might as well love

yourself enough to receive Him and His love for

you so that you can spread His love around

everywhere you go. Remember that loving God

helps you to love yourself and others. In I John

5:2 & 3 it reads, “By this we know that we love

the children of God, when we love God, and

keep his commandments. For this is the love

of God, that we keep his commandments: and

his commandments are not grievous.”

shalt love thy neighbour as

thyself: I am the Lord. It

was a time when the as-

sumption that men loved

themselves, took care of

themselves and would not do an-

ything to harm themselves.

Therefore, with this idea of doing

no harm to oneself, God said we

should love others with this same

love. But then, Jesus came and

In Deuteronomy 6:5 says, “And

thou shalt love the Lord thy God

with all thine heart, and with all

thy soul, and with all thy might.”

I believe that this was written

when the self-esteem of men

was at an all-time high. I said

that because it says in Leviticus

19:18, “Thou shalt not avenge,

nor bear any grudge against the

children of thy people, but thou

gave

a new command-

ment because He

knew that people

were starting to

harm themselves

and therefore did not need to

treat others as they were

treating themselves. So, he

said in John 13:34, “A new

commandment I give unto

you, That ye love one another;

as

for I am fearfully and wonder-

fully made: marvellous are

thy works; and that my soul

knoweth right well.”

This declaration in the 139th

Psalm is one of confidence,

strength, high-esteem, and

knowledge in the fact that

God made this person fear-

fully and beautifully. This

simply means that God loves

you, wants you to be confi-

dent and secure of His love

for you, as you walk safely

and securely in Him, no mat-

ter what your situation is.

This builds faith, an abun-

dance of peace, and an over-

flowing heart filled with his

love.

Liking yourself enough to love

yourself means finding out

who you are and who you

belong to. If you know Jesus

for yourself, you find yourself

seeing yourself the way God

sees you. Getting to know

Him better means that you

start hearing His voice and

meditating on His words for

you.

In Psalm 139:14, the psalm-

ist says, “I will praise thee;

Outreach is an extension of God’s love through human in-teraction. It is scripturally based and is required of us per the following.

Matthew 25:37-40 says, 37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

Outreach is the path through which churches interact with

the community. It resides in and introduces the love of God

to those who are lost and truly need the Lord.

As Christians, our mission is to build a strong fellowship of believers in Christ who will maintain their faith and be constantly equipped for ministry; To prayerfully meet the needs of those who are lost, overlooked, and/or discour-aged; To spread the Good News; To feed the hungry; To clothe the naked; To visit those who are sick and in pris-on; To foster the education of children and youth; And to minister to the spiritual and physical needs of all persons. This will be done regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, or social status; Teaching them to walk victoriously in the Spirit of our Loving God. (IASNF) of Christian Churches & Minis-

leaps and bounds. And in the cultural,

economic, and political climate that

the world is in, the time for growth is

right now.

God is truly blessing us to be encour-

shut-down, a time when men and

women are lovers of themselves more

than they are lovers of God, a time

where it seems that there are only two

kinds of people: The Haves and the

Body of Believers to come together,

join in prayer, bring our resources

together, and get the lost saved, the

sick healed, and encourage one an-

of the Lord and are looking for others

Auxiliary Bishop Williams answered the call to ministry at an early age. His Christian roots hale from the Church of God in Christ doctrine and experience. Wil-liams was licensed to preach by Rev. Coleman Von Perry and ordained by the Right Bishop R.E. Woodard. He ma-triculated at Prairie View A&M University studying Drafting Technology. He later furthered his education at Texas Southern University, majoring in Psychology. He has ministered in many churches proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. Eight years ago, he found himself on the ministerial staff at Word of Life Church in Southwest Hou-ston under the leadership of Pastor Clause Payton. From there, he was one of the original supporters of New Di-rections Christian Fellowship Church when it opened it’s doors in 2006. Williams is married to Connie Williams and they have two children and two grand-children. His wife, Connie Williams, has also been called into ministry and possesses many gifts that range from exhorting the Word of God, to singing, to doing interpretive movement and drama. This pair is a powerhouse of ministry as they al-low themselves to be used by God.

IASNF Counseling MinistryIASNF Counseling MinistryIASNF Counseling MinistryIASNF Counseling Ministry: IASNF understands and promotes the mental and spiritual health that is necessary for all of us as we help to build up God’s kingdom. Like many parishioners, the men and women of God who lead God’s people, sometimes find themselves in a place where they need someone to talk to and pray with in a Christian environment. So, one of the many benefits of having an IASNF membership is having access to this type of care. Through IASNF’s connection to The Managing Control Group, getting help is easy to ascertain. We provide caring, confidential counseling services to the leaders of this fellowship. Our plan of action is to provide leaders with an outlet for them to handle their issues privately, in order to avoid any possible damage to themselves, their families, their ministries, and the Christian community as a whole. For more information about receiving this kind of help for both members and non-members, please visit our website at www.angercontrolgroup.com. Satellite Expansion ProgramSatellite Expansion ProgramSatellite Expansion ProgramSatellite Expansion Program: Through New Directions Theological Institute (NDTI), IASNF is able to help churches with the growth and development of the men and women in ministry at their church. It is created to become a satellite location of NDTI, with complete access to the certificate programs that are coupled with opportunities for them to receive the bachelor degrees, master degrees, and doctorate degrees through are fully accredited partnerships. Expansion NDNDNDNDTITITITI: New Directions Theological Institute is an extensive, comprehensive, certificate program that includes a Chaplaincy program and a Christian Counseling program. Through our regionally accredited partnerships, we are able to give our students the opportunity to also earn higher degrees. BELOW ARE 7 RULES OF LEADERSHIP & ACCOUNTABILITY SO THAT WE ALL MAY SAY AND SPEAK THE SAME THINGS TO PROMOTE UNITY AND COHESIVENESS IN THE NET-

WORK:

• As a member of this net-

work, I will, at all times,

keep high morals stand-

ards and will always strive

to have peace with all men.

• To the best of my ability, I will

obey and submit in love to

those that God has placed in

my life to oversee growth

and development.

• If at anytime issues come up

with any of the other mem-

bers of the network, I will first

try and reconcile with the

person, then advise my Jurisdic-

tional Bishop of the issue; then, if

the issue is still not resolved, then

I will make a formal, written com-

plaint to the Office of the Secre-

tary General so that the Presiding

Bishop’s office can address the

issues.

• I will respect both men and wom-

en in the ministry and will treat all

leadership the way I would have

wanted to be treated. I will not be

a backbiter or a talebearer. I will

entreat all with kindness and god-

ly leadership regardless of The

minis- try size or economic status.

• I will do my best to attend all net-

work national functions when

possible and Jurisdictional func-

tions; And, will not, to the best of

my ability, not schedule any ser-

vices or meetings that will conflict

with attendance. If, by some

chance this cannot be avoided,

then I will

send representation to the events

to represent me both in person

and financially.

• I will endeavor to be a stu-

dent of God’s Word and be

willing to learn new things in

jurisdictional and national

settings.

• I will not cause confusion or

discord because of a differ-

ence of faith and or ideas

concerning doctrine and/or

teaching from scripture.

• I agree to these rules of
