A leading cause for the ozone depletion is the production of chemicals used for manufacturing air conditioning and refrigerating systems, fire foam, insulation materials, and vials. These chemicals are very stable and do not decompose in the lower layers of the atmosphere, but carried by the air currents, they reach the stratosphere, react with the ozone molecules, and as a result, destroy them.

This kind of gas is permeable to the sun radiation in one direction, but impermeable to the heat radiation in the opposite direction, as a result of which, the greenhouse effect appears.
