Wow! What a great start to the school year we have all had. Parent orientation on Monday, August 24, 2015 provided all of us a great opportunity to gather, share some important goals for the year, introduce new and returning faculty and staff, spend time in the classrooms with our incredible faculty and have some fun under the stars eating tacos and sharing stories. A big thanks to PAC, lead by Veronica Ruvalcaba and Trina Wilson, for planning and hosting this annual reception! Thank you to all of the volunteers who assisted with set-up, serving and clean up! TREE FEST 2015: Saturday, October 17, 2015 – Planting trees, working as a team, sharing in the afternoon celebration with food, entertainment and fun! This is a community event to celebrate the completion of phase 1 of our greening and water reclamation project. Please see the attached flier and visit our school website to purchase tickets! Ticket prices go up after October 1, 2015 so don’t delay – purchase your tickets today! There is also a flier attached that indicates the days and times of information sessions about the project offered to school parents, parishioners and interested community members. Three of these sessions will take place after masses on September 20, 2015 (7:30, 9:00 and 10:30 am masses). If you have questions do not hesitate to contact the Tree Fest chairs: Liz Wright, Tammy Zucker and Tara Walden. This committee has been hard at work for weeks already! Invite friends and family to join in on the fun October 17, 2015! USED UNIFORMS: The two uniform sales have been a great success due to the careful planning of the chair, Varsiann Amerian and parent volunteers who assisted in July and August with the sale!

Welcome back to school!

Wow! What a great start to the school year we have all had. September 8 – PAC Meeting – All are welcome! 7:30 AM in the library

September 11 – 8:00 AM school liturgy followed by Peacebuilder Assembly/Activity

September 13 – First day of full day program for TK

September 18 – Picture Day

September 20 – Catechetical Sunday (commissioning at 9:00 AM mass)

September 21 – No classes, Faculty in-service/retreat

September 25 – Lion Olympics!

September 28 – First day of orchestra (www.jointheorchestra.com)

September 29 – Admissions Outreach Program at 8:00 AM in the library

VIRTUS TRAINING: Parents who are interested in volunteering at St. Mark School need to be Virtustrained. There are two upcoming training sessions – September 11 and September 12. You can also seek outtraining at sites across the city. See the flier attached in this regard. This is a very important step to take as St.Mark School parents so please do what you can to take care of this important obligation! We very muchappreciate your vigilance in regards to all safety matters! To RSVP for the September 11 and September 12Virtus Training, please call Judy Girard, Director of Religious Education at 310-822-1201.
