UoT’s offer Diplomas (NQF 6) as entry level qualifications with a vocational & professional focus.

We also do applied research, which may benefit industry.

Theory and Practice cannot be separated – they are inextricably linked.

Vocational qualifications need work-integrated learning, which can be facilitated via educator-industry partnerships.

Much is being done, but more can be done.

Universities of Technology offer formal qualifications (NQF Level 5 - 10)

May also offer degrees, but majority of undergraduate qualifications will be diploma programmes.

‘Technology’ does not refer only to actual technology, refers also to vocational orientation of programmes

As a university, we also contribute to knowledge creation through applied research.

The objective of CE Africa is to create and manage recognised certification for the business events industry.

CEP Africa will enable the industry to engage with government and other structures with one voice, ensuring industry ownership in regards to an overarching Professional Body and the establishment and administration of Professional Designations.
