I nostri tappeti sono ormai privi di significato, ciò accade perchè li abbiamo consumati, estenuati, svuotati con un uso eccessivo e spesso inconsapevole. Li abbiamo resi contenitori vuoti.Per usarli ancora dobbiamo rigenerarli.Dobbiamo restituire loro: consistenza, colore, vibrazioni e soprattutto senso.Per fare questo dobbiamo farli a pezzi e poi ricostruirli.Noi li abbiamo smontati e poi rimontati, liberandoli dai vincoli e dalle convenzioni, mantenendo il loro più pro-fondo significato.Solo dopo questo processo possiamo riusarli per raccontare nuove storie.

If carpets no longer mean anything to us, it’s because we made them meaningless through an often uncaring and oblivious use that has emptied them and left them exhausted. They ended up as empty vessels. To use them again we must re-create them. We need to restore their texture, color, feelings, and, above all, their meaning. This takes an act of destruction and reconstruction, which is exactly what we did. We shattered them into pieces only to reassemble them in ways that free them from the weight of ingrained visual conventions, but keep their deeper meaning.Only through such a process can we enjoy them again and let them narrate new stories.

Nos tapis sont désormais insignifiants, cela arrive parce que nous les avons usés, exténués, vidés par un us-age excessif et souvent inconscient.Nous les avons transformés en récipients vides.Pour les utiliser encore nous devons les régénerer.Nous devons leur rendre de la consistence, de la couleur, des vibrations et surtout du sens.Pour faire cela nous devons les réduire en morceaux et les recréer.Nous les avons démontés et puis remontés, liberés des liens er des conventions, en gardant leur profonde signification.C’est après ce processus que nous pouvons les réutiliser pour raconter de nouvelles histoires.

Unsere Teppiche sind inzwischen ohne Belang, weil wir sie durch zu starke Beanspruchung verschlissen, er-schöpft und ausgehöhlt haben, was häufig unbewusst geschieht.Wir haben sie zu leeren Behältern gemacht.Um sie wieder zu verwenden, müssen sie regeneriert werden.Wir müssen ihnen ihre Konsistenz, ihre Farben, ihr Flair und vor allen Dingen ihren Sinn zurückgeben.Zu diesem Zweck müssen wir sie in Stücke schneiden und neu zusammensetzen.Wir haben sie zerlegt und dann wieder zusammengesetzt, so dass sie von allen Zwängen und Konventionen befreit wurden. Ihr tieferer Sinn wurde jedoch beibehalten.Erst nach diesem Prozess können wir sie wieder verwenden, damit sie neue Geschichten erzählen.

Il grammelot è uno strumento recitativo che assembla suoni, parole e fonemi privi di significato e crea una narrazione. Ciò che ne risulta è una recitazione fortemente espressiva e iperbolica. Il linguaggio usato acqui-sisce inoltre un surplus di espressività, in grado di comunicare nuove emozioni e suggestioni.Questo artificio recitativo era utilizzato da giullari e attori itineranti.Noi siamo i giullari del tappeto, mescoliamo i linguaggi e i dialetti delle produzioni orientali e creiamo un nuovo prodotto con la presunzione di farci comprendere, anche se non sappiamo il perchè. Abbiamo ragionev-ole convinzione che tutto questo provochi non solo emozioni, ma che aiuti a rendere più belle le nostre case.

GR A MMELOT I

Grammelot is a recitation instrument that assembles words and sounds, with or without definite meanings, into a single narrative. The result is an intensely expressive and hyperbolic narration. The language that is de-ployed, acquires a surplus of dramatic expression that enables it to con-vey new emotions and suggestions.It is the same recitative style used in the past by itinerant comedians and jesters. And we are the modern jesters of carpets. We mix the languages and dialects of oriental carpets and forge a new product with the pretense of being understandable, even if we ourselves could not explain how. It’s our conviction, not entirely unreasonable we hope, that all this not only generates emotions, but also makes our homes more beautiful.

Dedichiamo particolare attenzione alla ricerca di vecchi tappeti persiani, kerman, kashan, isfahan, tabriz.Li laviamo in acqua ossigenata e li mettiamo al sole per farli diventare quasi bianchi, sempre attenti perchè mantengano traccia dei disegni originali. In una seconda fase li immergiamo in un bagno di colore naturale e li asciughiamo al sole.

We dedicate special attention to the search for aged, traditional persian carpets: kerman, kashan, isfahan, tabriz.We bleach them with hydrogen peroxide and expose them to sunlight till they are almost white but still keep the outline of the original designs. We then immerse them in a bath of natural color and dry them in the sun.

Pulizia e lavaggio: possono essere puliti tutti i giorni con aspirapolvere; dopo 2 o 3 anni d’uso si con-siglia di portarlo in una lavanderie specializzata.

Materials: Hand woven, aged and antique oriental carpets.

Colors: vegetal and mineral based. Standard dimensions (in cm.): 150x200 - 170x240 200x300 - 250x350 - 300x400 Custom sizes available on request.

They may be cleaned daily with standard vacuum-cleaners. After 2/3 years of use they should be washed by specialized dry-cleaners.
