ANAYA AND ANHAD

I was a simple, homely and working girl of 26 when I was married off by my family. I got pregnant just after a couple of months of the marriage. The problems started immediately. My husband physically abused & mentally harassed me. Even though my in-laws weren?t also supportive for me and created issues claiming more dowry and other so many issues. I was not able to explain them anything because that phase was very bad phase of my life. But still I tried to be in the marriage for 4.5 years but once when my husband drove me out of the house with my Kids, then finally I decided that I had enough. My husband?s family didn?t even returned the dowry and jew-ellery that they?d taken from my family.

I am a ?Single Mother? and having been raised by a Single Mother Myself and Proud for same. No doubt it is difficult to do job of both the Parents with the Extreme Strength & El-egance and still being treated like this by people around me.

I built my life almost from scratch since then. I started my Post graduation after this with a full time job along with the responsibility of two little Kids of same age. My family is very supportive in my educational and professional journey. I am ?Extreme lucky? to have a Loving family. My parents, broth-ers and sister in-laws all are supportive of my decision to start a new life. Specially my elder brother helping me most to raise my Kids and when I praised him in-front of my friends. One of my friend Bhawana always gave to him the tit-tle?Mama hai wo Bachon ka, uske to is Rishtae mei hi 2 baar maa aata hai. These lines give me more strength.

After all these, struggle does not end here. Inside the society. I faced people who thought i am easily available just be-cause I am single. I am really disappointed by the way these people think even in current time. I understand the huge hurdles such a woman has to overcome almost on a daily basis. In our country where Women are judged for every aspect of their lives (Being daughter, being girlfriend, being wife, being mother or in so many ways? ..) and if you are Single Mother then some lines which you hear so many times in your life . Lines are? ..

? You?re not a natural family? !

?Oh, she must be easily accessible?!

?Let?s sidestep her because she?ll filch our husbands?

But these lines are wrong my mother said to me when I dis-cussed the matter with her. My mother told me :-

?Ek Maa ke liye is Duniya mei sabse Majboot Rishta...

Aulad ke Saath aur Aulaad ka Maa ke Saath hot hai?!

Aur is taranh ? ? ? ? ? .

?Ek Maa aur uski Aulaad, Wo Dono Milkar hi Ek Dusrae ke Purak hain aur Pura Pariwar hain?

These lines gave me strength and I started my life again where only my Kids are my priority and my story tittle

?Anaya & Anahd? is also dedicated to them.

?Anaya means Origin where Anhad means Limitless?

Page 14: Sarthak COpy - Untitled Page · It is a biannual magazine, that gets published two times in a year- 1 in month of June and 1 in month of January. This is first volume of SARTHAK published

Now, I emerged as a powerful woman, living my life by own terms now. In short both words; Anaya & Anahd give me strength to start ?My life like Origin of new? and make ?My life limitless?.

But still I will say at the end of the day things are much better for me right now. ?All said and done, I am still living a very good life. I am doing whatever I like to do. If you?re in an unhappy marriage, don?t stay in that marriage or stick to a bad marriage.?

We need to raise children without scars. Being a mother its our duty to give ?Scarless Time, Attention and Patience?to our children because these are more valuable gifts and best things for our children rather than dresses and vacations.? Because these things help in processing their feelings.

Last but not least I want to say ?I had no exposure at all, but life had taught me so much. Please, respect a Single Mother, she is going through a lot, she concludes.?

Moreover, for me now gender is just a reference, a state of ?Being a Man or a Woman?, but that doesn?t stop me from reaching my goals. My Kids, to whom I tried to give the best education to make them ?Good Human Being?.

Agr icult ure is the science and art of cultivating plants and livestock.Agriculture was the key development in the rise of sedentary human civilization, whereby farming of domesticated species created food surpluses that enabled people to live in cities.

The history of agriculture began thousands of years ago. After gathering wild grains beginning at least 105,000 years ago, farmers began to plant them around 11,500 years ago. Plants were independently cultivated in at least 11 regions of the world.

Modern agronomy, plant breeding, agro chemicals such as pesticides and fertilizers, and technological developments have sharply increased yields, while causing widespread ecological and environmental damage.Selective breeding and modern practices in animal husbandry have similarly increased the output of meat, but have raised concerns about animal welfare and environmental damage.

Meaning:

Agriculture usually refers to human activities. Agriculture is defined with varying scopes, in its broadest sense using natural resources to "produce commodities which maintain life, including food, fiber, forest products, horticultural crops, and their related services". Thus defined, it includes arable farming, horticulture, animal husbandry and forestry, but horticulture and forestry are in practice often excluded.

Types:

Pastoralism involves managing domesticated animals. In nomadic pastoralism, herds of livestock are moved from place to place in search of pasture, fodder, and water. This type of farming is practised in arid and semi-arid regions of Sahara,Central Asia and some parts of India

In shifting cultivation, a small area of forest is cleared by cutting and burning the trees. The cleared land is used for growing crops for a few years until the soil becomes too infertile, and the area is abandoned.

Crop cult ivat ion syst em s:

Cropping systems vary among farms depending on the available resources and constraints; geography and climate of the farm; government policy; economic, social and political pressures; and the philosophy and culture of the farmer.

Multiple cropping, in which several crops are grown sequentially in one year, and intercropping, when several crops are grown at the same time, are other kinds of annual cropping systems known as polycultures.

Product ion pract ices:

Tillage is the practice of breaking up the soil with tools such as the plow or harrow to prepare for planting, for nutrient incorporation, or for pest control. Pest control includes the management of weeds, insects, mites, and diseases.

Nutrient management includes both the source of nutrient inputs for crop and livestock production, and the method of utilization of manure produced by livestock.

Water management is needed where rainfall is insufficient or variable, which occurs to some degree in most regions of the world. Some farmers use irrigation to supplement rainfall.

Agriculture represents 70% of freshwater use worldwide.

Environm ent al im pact :

Agriculture imposes multiple external costs upon society through effects such as pesticide damage to nature (especially herbicides and insecticides), nutrient runoff, excessive water usage, and loss of natural environment.

Eutrophication, excessive nutrients inaquatic ecosystems from irrigation resulting in algal bloom and anoxia, leads to fish kills, loss of biodiversity, and renders water unfit for drinking and other industrial uses.

Conclusion:

According to a report by the International Food Policy Research Institute, agricultural technologies will have the greatest impact on food production if adopted in combination with each other; using a model that assessed how eleven technologies could impact agricultural productivity, food security and trade by 2050, the International Food Policy Research Institute found that the number of people at risk from hunger could be reduced by as much as 40% and food prices could be reduced by almost half.

ATTITUDE

' THE GAME CHANGER '

William James of Harvard University said, ?The great est discovery of m y generat ion is t hat hum an beings can alt er t heir l ives by alt er ing t heir at t i t udes of m ind.?

A study attributed to Harvard University found that when person gets a job or a promotion, 85% of the time it is because of his/her attitude and only 15% of the time because of his intelligence and knowledge of specific facts and figures. It is really very surprising that lakhs of rupees are wasted on teaching facts and figures which account for only 15% of success in life.

?There was a man who made his living selling balloons at a fair. He had balloons of many different colours, including red, yellow, blue and green. Whenever business was slow, he would release a helium-filled balloon into the air. When the children saw the balloon go up, they all wanted one. They would come up to him, buy a balloon and his sales would go up. All day, he continued to release a balloon whenever sales were slow. One day, the balloon man felt someone tugging at his jacket. He turned around and a litt le boy asked, ?If you release a black balloon, will that also fly?? Moved by the boy?s concern, the man replied gently, ?Son, it is not t he colour of t he balloon, it is what ?s inside t hat m akes it go up.?Some people can drive another moral that this story was told to enlighten their sharp & superfast brain regarding how balloon flies?

Some people can drive another moral that this story was told to enlighten their sharp & superfast brain regarding how balloon flies? No need to surprise of course its helium! But the real thought behind this story is to derive a principle which applies to our lives, it?s what inside that counts and what?s inside of us that makes us go up is our?at t it ude?. It applies to every sphere of life, including one?s personal & professional life. Can an executive be a good executive without a good attitude? Can a student be a good student without a good attitude? Can parents, teachers, employers or employees be good in their roles without a good attitude?

Chance vs Choice

?Chance depends on circum st ances, but Choice depends on your at t i t ude?

The foundation of success, regardless of your chosen field is attitude. When your attitude is right, we realise the following things.

1)Opportunities are always under our feet. We don?t haveto go anywhere.

2)When we don?t know how to recognize opportunity, it could slap us on our face and we would still not be able to recognize it. All we need to do is to learn & to recognize opportunities

3)People, who don?t know how to recognise opportunities, complain of noise when they knock.

4)Lost opportunities are easier recognised when they are leaving rather than when they are coming.

5)An opportunity only knocks once. The next one may be better or worse, but never the same one. That is why it is so crucial to make the right decision at the right time. A right decision at the wrong time becomes a wrong decision.

6)The grass on the other side always looks greener. There are two dimensions to the greener grass:

a)It may be possible that the other farmer is taking better care of his grass and it is actually greener.

b)Most of the time, however, it is only an illusion. Many times in life, while chasing an illusion, we lose out the opportunity right under our own feet.

7)While we are eyeing the grass on the other side, there are others who are eyeing the grass on our side. They would be happy to trade places with us.

Ultimately, we can reach to a conclusion that our attitude determines how we look at a setback. To a positive thinker, a setback can be a stepping-stone to success. To a negative thinker, it can be a stumbling block. Great thinkers and philosophers feel and believe that every problem comes with an equal or greater opportunity for success.

"The w inner has a solut ion for every problem ; t he loser has a problem for every solut ion."

POWER AND

ENERGY

"I went on a diet and lost 15 horsepower.?

?I filled up my car?s gas tank. It took 20 volts.?

Most people would recognize these statements as nonsense. After all, it seems obvious that weight isn?t measured in horsepower, and a quantity of liquid isn?t measured in volts. In both cases, the speaker got the units of measure wrong.

While these mistakes may be absurd, in the field of energy generation and storage, similar errors are made all the time, and hardly anybody seems to notice. The core problem is confusion of two related, but different, physical quantities: energy and power. They?re not the same thing! If you read and understand this article, you?ll know more about the difference than a lot of reporters, and when you hear that a new wind farm will generate ?250 megawatts per year,? you?ll know that something is wrong!

So what is energy, anyway?

While we all have a vague sense of what energy is, it helps to know the precise definition. Stated as simply as possible, energy is the capacity to do work. In physics, work is the act of exerting a force over a distance. Pushing a sofa across a room, or lift ing your carry-on into a plane?s overhead compartment are both work. (On the other hand, just standing there with your suitcase held over your head might tire you out, but it?s technically not work because you?re not actually moving the luggage.)

So we might say that energy is what makes it possible to push things around. The ?thing? might be a car moving down a highway, a lump of bread dough on your kneading board, or an

electron in the filament of a light bulb. Pushing these things

around is work, and it takes energy to do it. If we know the strength of the force we need in order to move an object, and the distance we?re going to move it, we can calculate the amount of energy we?ll need.

There are several different units used to measure energy: joules, BTUs, Newton-meters, and even calories. When we?re talking about electrical energy, the most common unit is the watt-hour. One watt of electrical power, maintained for one hour, equals one watt-hour of energy. A thousand of these is a kilowatt-hour (kWh)

Work ing Fast er = More Power

Energy measures the total quantity of work done, it doesn?t say how fast you can get the work done. You could move a loaded semi-trailer across the country with a lawnmower engine if you didn?t care how long it took. Other things being equal, the tiny engine would do the same amount of work as the truck?s big one. And it would produce the same amount of energy and burn the same amount of fuel. But the bigger engine has more power, so it can get the job done faster. Power is defined as the rate of producing or consuming energy

Conclusion

It?s common for people to use the words ?power? and ?energy? interchangeably. energy is the total amount of work done, and power is how fast you can do it. In other words, power is energy per unit of time. Power is watts. Energy is watt-hours.

DIFFERENT STAGES OF TEAM DEVELOPMENT

We in pharmaceutical industry always focuses on terms like ?Team Management?, ?Team Development? etc. For team to be effective, people in the team must be able to work together to contribute collectively in team outcomes. Bruce Tuckman, an educational psychologist, identified a five stage development process that most teams follow to become high performing. Team progress through these five stages is shown as below:

1.Form ing St age:This is the initial stage of team development.Typical behaviors of team members at this stage includes:

-Uncertainty is high during this stage. Team members acting as individuals.

-Peoples are looking for leadership and authority.

-Members are asking such questions as ?What does the team offer me?? ?What is expected of me??

2.St orm ing St age:This is the most difficult and critical stage to pass through. Typical behaviors would include:

-Members may disagree on team goals.

-Confrontation of issues and open expression of feelings.

-Alliances and sub-group may begin to form.

To get through this stage, members must work to overcome obstacles, to accept individual differences and to work through conflicting ideas on team tasks and goals.

3.Norm ing St age:If team get through the storming phase, conflict is resolved and some degree of unity emerges. In the norming stage, consensus develops around who is the leader or leaders are.Roles and responsibilit ies clearly distributed to all members.Things noticeable at norming stage are:

-Increase in trust, acceptance and respect.

-Acceptable ways of dealing with conflict, decision making and communication are found.

-Team performance increases as members learn to cooperate and begin to focus on team goals.

-Team begins to establish an identity.

-Team is balanced in terms of Doers/Producers, Challengers, Thinkers, Leaders, Harmonizers.

4.Per form ing St age:In this stage, consensus and cooperation have been well-established and the team is mature, organized and well-functioning.Things noticeable at this stage are:

-Team is focused on problem solving and meeting team goals.

-High level of energy and creativity.

-Team fully uses the member?s ability.

-High level of interaction and participation in activities.

5.Adjourning St age:In this stage, most of the team tasks are accomplished. Recognition and reward aredistributed as appropriate. Team is disbanded and return to normal duty.

Above five stages of team development help us to know that how our teams at ISLL (Ind Swift Laboratories Limited) are behaving, working and performing.

Sincere efforts from each team are continuously coming time to time and its latest example is ?Recent FDA Audit?, wherein all teams worked as single team and clear the FDA. We are very thankful to our higher management for their continuous support and motivation.

?A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way?-John C. Maxwell

In the fall when when u see goose heading south for for the winter flying along V formation,

U might be interested in knowing what scientist have discovered about why they fly that way

It as been learned that as each bird flaps its wings,

it creates an uplift for the bird immediately

following. By flying in V formation the whole

flocks adds at least 70-72 % greater flying range than

If bird flew its own.

Whenever a goose falls out of V formation it suddenly

Feels drag and resistance of trying to do it alone

And quickly gets back into formation to take

Advantage of the lifting power of the bird

Immediately in front.

When the lead goose tired it rotates back in the wing and another goose flies point.

The geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up the speed.

Finally, when a goose gets sick or wounded by a gun shot and falls out, two geese falls out of formation and follow it down to help and protect it.

They stay with it until it is either able to fly or until it is dead and then they launch out on their own with another formation to catch up to their own group again.
